Lock or warrior

Hello! Just curious which class is more suited for soloing content, mythic+ and some nub pvp. Im just getring into the game and all i see is the sad state of warlock and all i feel is the depressing squishy of warrior. Maybe i suck but wanted to see if thwre is a consensus

Last I checked (about 2 days ago) both Warrior specs were absolute dog.
With that said, for low-level play like BGs, solo shuffle arena, and M+, you’ll absolutely enjoy just charging in and swinging your melee weapon around.

Casters feel really good if you stick it out until you get geared and push content.
But give it a few weeks, and low level content will be frustrating as a caster. I hate Warriors and DHs exclusively due to envy. I’m tired of casting my spell while I watch a melee charge in and take all the Glory in a single GCD.

So to surmise. Lock if you want a slow burn. Something to grow into.
Warrior if you want mindless entertainment. Hell, that’s literally what the “Barbarian” architype in virtually all games is for.

Thanks so much for your reply. I played both classes for a few days just leveling and i feel like in dungeons you are absolutely right. Run in and swing with a warrior and get top dps whereas with my lock i need to carefully pick where i stand and where i put my portal and so on.

In leveling solo in open world i need to carefully pull mobs just so i dont pull more than i can handle whereas with my warlock i strut into an area like a boss, pull everything and watch it all go boom with me and my demon shrugging off all the blows.

I just feel that a cloth wearing warlock is tankier than a plate wearing warrior. Which is kind of why i made this thread to see if others have noticed this.

I can tell you with absolute certainty that, even after the nerfs, fury warrior is still top 3 of all specs in pvp. I can’t comment on pve whatsoever though!

I know you are probably comparing and contrasting playing a caster vs melee, but don’t forget that locks are quite immobile. They have gate/port on long cooldowns and that’s basically it, while warrior is an absolute movement machine. Two very different play styles to keep in mind. (I bring this up because not all casters are as immobile as lock, mages for example are much more slippery and even ele to an extent, but you do get used to it as long as you don’t main a warrior/Druid before hand :P)

Arms is very technical. So is prot.

Fury is that barbarian feel you talking about.

If OP is going to roll Warrior. There is never been a better time than right now.
