Hi, not sure if it’s a known issue, but Shadowburn doesn’t grant soul shards despite saying ‘received soul shard’…anyone else with the same issue?
you dont happen to have an auto delete macro for shards do you?
Nope I don’t, I still get shards from drain soul… 
what are you shadow burning? Mobs that don’t give exp or honour will not refund a shard.
Pretty sure the same mobs as those who drop shards from drain soul…seems like my Shadowburn is glitched 
Maybe you don’t understand the ability?
It uses a soul shard to cast the spell, if the target dies within I think 5 seconds it returns the shard used that was spent casting it.
So it doesn’t actually grant a soul shard per say, it just refund it.

ahhh thanks for highlighting … didn’t know it costs a shard for casting… not sure if i’ll use it coz it has relatively low damage, besides instant cast and lesser mana required than drain soul (DS is also instant cast but chance of being interrupted), i dont think its really necessary…

It does. But it has to be the finishing blow, or hit and then killed within a few seconds. And its not giving you more shards, it just refunds the one it costs to cast it.
Well shadow burn is part of your max damage rotation. It’s also your only insta damage spell on a reasonable cool down. So it’s useful for pulling in crowded areas as well in pvp and as a finishing blow while killing mobs.
It also does a great job at knocking off other debuffs on raid bosses.
I occasionally have the issue that if I cast Shadowburn right as the MoB dies that the cast will go off and shard will be used up but I won’t get the shard refunded which is probably a Batching issue.
It is, I have the same issue with drain soul as well. Cast goes off, debuff shows on target sometimes damage even ticks, no shard.
