Local Streaming w Nvidia Shield TV

I just recently got a Nvdia Shield TV and it has a feature that allows me to use my Nvidia equipped PC to stream games from my PC in my office to my TV in the livingroom. I know Blizz does not like remote play solutions like GeForceNow for some reason and it’s against TOS. But is there any TOS/EULA issue w using the local streaming feature of my Shield to stream WoW from my PC to my Livingroom TV?

In the past it has been recommended against though I don’t believe that there’s a specific rule forbidding it unless it also utilizes cloud based services to accomplish this.

Personally, I’d steer clear of it, but that’s me.

It’s not cloud based. It just goes from my PC over the local network to the Shield. Is there any official Blizz stance on solutions like this?

Folks that post here in CS aren’t going to give the thumbs-up on any “streaming” devices, as we’ve seen too many folks wander in here and complain about being actioned for using this or that streaming device or “playing WoW by streaming it to work,” or any number of other complaints.

I’m with Perl:

From the EULA, section C, part V:

That’s the stance. If you are 100% positive on the data path … well, you can proceed as such.

I just want to know if there is any official word specifically for local streaming and if not to illicit discussion so that maybe Blizz would consider saying yay or nay on it officially. If no one bothers discussing it then Blizz doesn’t know that it’s something people would like guidance, clarification on.

I posted their stance above. They intentionally will not elaborate on that. The verbiage in the EULA is exactly the way they want it. The EULA prohibits streaming to a server, which then streams it to a device.

It doesn’t discuss streaming from a device, to another screen.

You will need to do research and determine how the Shield works, then make your own determination on how to proceed.

If there’s enough discussion they would. Can’t discuss if no one brings it up.
