Loatheb - Naxx

Hey,

I’m trying to find the info, but some sources say yes, some say no.

Is it possible for a Priest to use Power Word: Shield on Loatheb without proccing the 1 min “no healing spell” effect ? Also, if yes, is it possible for them to use it during the 1 min “no healing spell” effect ?

I know Paladin can freely use Blessing of Sacrifice but I haven’t read anything about PW:S

Thank you

Power word shield triggers the 1 minute shared cooldown.

Yep, it triggers it

Can you abuse spell batching like we do in pvp to cast a heal with an instant cast straight after before the CD kicks in?

No you can not batch a second heal.

One strat that works very well is to have a few priests with the spirit healer on death talent, they can spam heals on the tank without the debuff effecting them

So have your priests with soulstones, once the fight starts getting dicey have a priest kill themselves and they can keep the tank up for a bit for free then come back with soulstone and even die again after that if needed.

It makes the fight very easy

@Op: You can precast PWS but as soon as the fight starts casting it triggers the debuff.

Spirit of death is a bad talent. Having your priests spec into Improved Death for one fight that isnt even really a heal check seems pretty silly

Horde first whitemane naxx clear

Just sharing strats that work

Having 1 or 2 priests with this talent can trivialize this fight, and its not a “bad” talent for raids as punishing as naxx, its bad for speed clears

So thatd make you server… 10th?

Lol, you always know people are reaching when there’s like 5 qualifiers on their bragging. I’m like the best male horde undead priest named Carl on the entire server!

You killed your priest 5 times to beat Loatheb. That’s 30 kinds of unnecessary

A talent that is useless unless you die (and thus f-ed up) is a bad talent

Post on your main, lets see your naxx clear

And im assuming you’re alliance which makes naxx 2x easier

You know someone’s reaching when they have to use hyperbole to try to discredit someone,

2 qualifiers, horde: disadvantaged compared to alliance for naxx, and whitemane server: the highest populated classic server in the game

No harm in sharing something that worked for them. For people searching for an answer, sometimes any answer that works is good enough. No need to hate on it just cause it’s not a solution you would use.

I don’t know why you need to sacrifice your priests to Loatheb. Are you super short on healers or something?

I’ve cleared it. And I was in the 1st alliance guild on the server with a name ending in y too!

Oh please explain

That’s fair. Its still a really really odd idea. If you’re having trouble with the healing on loatheb your healers must all be post-lobotomy. Its literally the easiest fight to heal in the entire game.

You dont “need” to do it, it just makes the fight WAY easier

People love to nitpick everything for not being the most 100% efficient “meta strat” like armchair strategists when a vast majority of them haven’t even done it themselves

You don’t want to use that method then dont, but it 100% works

If you need why explained to you, you clearly haven’t stepped foot in Naxx. Or Any classic raid.

Or are just typical Alliance playing the victim card.

Or all of the above.

Shamans are hands-down the best healers on the one real healing check in Naxx. They have WF which is a huge dps increase. The only advantage people give Ally over Horde is Salv but threat hasn’t been an issue for most tanks since MC…

But please tell me more MR. Void Elf mage

The fact that 43 alliance guilds hold the top 50 first naxx clears despite most servers being predominantly horde populated is just a coincidence right?

Selection bias. PVE’ers are more likely to pick alliance. PVP’ers are more likely to play horde. Its literally been that way since Vanilla. Are you new here??
