Seriously, after completing the campaign it sounds like this expansion is already over. There is no greater looming threat outside of Xalatath (who we know is going to be the main antagonist throughout the Worldsoul Saga) and spoilers the council literally congratulates you for uniting all of Khaz Algar and bringing everything to a close. Outside of the Spider Queen, what else is waiting for us in this place? Yeah, typically there’s another patch that introduces another hinted zone in the story etc.
However, there doesn’t seem to be anything like that in TWW. For example, in BFA we knew Azshara was coming eventually and was hinted at in the shorts. In Shadowlands, we only dealt with Sire Denathrius in the 1st patch, but we knew we still had to deal with Sylvanas and the Jailer. In Dragonflight, we were able to deduce the Incarnates would probably each get their own patch or something similar as it was hinted throughout. But after TWW campaign, it sort of feels like after we defeat the nerubians it’s a wrap.
Feels like we’re about to speedrun to Midnight Expansion.
I feel a little weird about the earthen at the patch end.
We come in and upend their entire worldview and they all become unbound. Feels like a bit of a violation of the prime directive.
I mean if the systems worked for millennia, it probably shouldnt be entirely abandoned? To Xal’s point who tf are we even? We just keep murderin ppl so why are we in the right to do anything to the earthen worldview
That said yea the campaign end was a little abrupt but obviously theres going to be more patches and who knows what happens in the raids ending which in df set up the other incarnates
Why does Dr Claw dress like Destro from GI Joe as far as we can tell? Long black sleeves and metal gloves like that? Check out Destro. Dresses the same as far as his arms. Destro got a side job?
Would probably explain the funds to pay for all his equipment that kept getting dismantled or exploded by a 12year old girl and her jaundice inflicted dog lol
I know I sound snarky (I somewhat am) but I seriously am legitimately confused. The campaign ending and getting the “Achievement: The War Within!” and saying I completed War Within storyline etc and just the way everything wrapped up, truly does feel like an expansion ending more so than a patch ending. I mean… idk. They really did make it feel like the ending to the story imo. I feel like I wouldn’t be surprised if we got 2 seasons to last us 6months to a 1yr, and then Midnight released soon after.
Did they release a roadmap for The War Within yet? Might need to check that out.
The Spider Queen was just the older, not the ascended Queen. So we still have to deal with her. But she is a raid boss so maybe she only lasts for another six days.
I think now that the Earthen storyline is resolved to make them playable we get more void enemies. And probably some more old god zealots.
We also still need to find out what Beledar is in Hallowfall.
I’m sure some Titan stuff will get sprinkled in.
And of course then the Xal’atath stuff. She may possess main characters and we have to go against them.
I’m gonna wait and see. I definitely don’t think it’s wrapped up. I think that’s just the feeling for now and will be short lived.
If I’m putting on the serious face for this, yeah I don’t really like the pace of this expansion. They say they want to do a longer 3-act arc, but this recent patch does not reflect that. It jammed a lot of information and progression into this one scene, as if it was still desperately trying to keep up with previous expansions’ pacing.
I get that individual expansions will be shorter, but this is the sort of thing you plan well ahead of actually writing anything down and assigning it chapters. For game development, this is the sort of thing ironed out during storyboarding.
I’m still giving them time, especially because some things have been pleasant surprises for me, but I feel like I’ve been on a rollercoaster.
That was likely the end of what Danuser had worked on, cause you know leaders coming together like in DF saying things are better at the end bleh bleh is the same formula. Metzen had to wrap up whatever the dark heart was I’m guessing cause it didn’t’ fit with his version of events.
This is exactly what I was thinking because main quest line had some big jumps in between. A little too big for my taste. But can’t wait what Metzen is brewing.
Something about an ocean beneath the ocean, we also can clearly delve deeper into the black blood and all the twisted echoes or what ever those lost things are.
Edit: people were also talking about maybe a goblin zone with all their mining.
I feel like they chose the wrong expansion format to go too ham on the side content, frankly. That’s going to be what results in people feeling like an expansion’s hit its peak early.
