Living Bomb over nerfed already

  • Living Bomb damage decreased by 63%.
  • Living Bomb is now target-capped at 8 targets and no longer splashes.
  • Living Bomb visual effects now have reduced visual fidelity in raid groups.
  • Lit Fuse chance to trigger reduced to 4% (was 15%).
  • Explosive Ingenuity chance to trigger reduced to 3% (was 10%).
  • Explosivo’s Living Bomb trigger chance during Combustion is reduced to 15% (was 30%).
  • Explosivo’s Living Bomb damage increase during Combustion reduced to 40% (was 50%).

Hardly see it proc now, and damage is really low now. Still need to run a few more M+ to see where fire mage falls. I just dont understand why have so many talents on the right side on the fire tree dedicated to living bomb and now its not a huge dps gain on beta server and live atm .

I rant some tests. Came to the conclusion that the right side of the tree is useless . Left side is more dependable but the lacks the dps buffs, overall, not enough mage coming out of fore mage after this nerf.

Pre patch talents don’t tell the whole story. The talents is meant to work with hero hero talents and at max level. Don’t stress too much about it yet

Can someone clarify what “Living Bomb is now target-capped at 8 targets and no longer splashes” means? Does it just mean Living Bomb deals no damage beyond 8 targets or that Living Bomb can only be on a maximum of 8 targets even with the Blast Zone talent?

Thanks!

As we have access to beta and fire is a joke there aswell, you should absolutely stress about it!!!

Fire deals tank damage on live and beta.
It does around 30-50% less damage then frost or arcane.
With or without hero talents.

You must be out of the loop with beta as well

Fire is dumpster garbage juice on beta. It needs some serious buffs before they go into s1 for tww. If not, then fire will be dead. This has been a complaint about its tuning for weeks now.

Only thing I can figure is that they want to dissuade people from using it until they figure out the performance problems it’s causing the servers.

From a pure balancing perspective the nerf is utterly nonsensical and makes the spell, the entire right side of the spec tree, and the frostfire hero tree (which leans into bomb) completely useless. It’s the worst performing spec on beta and has been for several weeks now. It’s one of those issues that’s so egregious that they have to have a logical reason for it.

“We would rather you just didn’t use Living Bomb,” Blizzard probably.
