Live Q&A VoD with Ion Hazzikostas

A bunch of hot air trying to justify terrible design choices. Was anyone actually expecting anything different?

The irony is so strong here it’s helping support your wall of text.

No, all the horde are not going to turn off war mode.

You have any idea the depth and value they could add to professions if they had the power to add speed or leech. If a JC could one again make gems for gear that a Blacksmith can once again add to a few pieces of gear. I mean why no belt buckle? The 5% exp gem for alts is even silly if they don’t have a single piece of gear with a socket.

Look my point is, is that PROFESSIONS are for the most part crap. Remove some of the RNG players hate and allow professions to offset it. Don’t make it easy. Actually require items from content players do or should be doing with guarantee drops of the material.

I mean is it the end of the world to leave TF alone and it’s random chance but to allow an Inscriptionist to craft an item that will WF the item randomly +5 or +10 for players? Again it doesn’t have to be simple. Could even be a different formula for the item slot. But again something that makes the profession feel more useful and at the same time offsetting at least some of the negative RNG.

I could go on and on. Every profession could in some way almost offset some portion of the RNG we all hate other then maybe Alchemy but potions and flasks. They are already in high demand. But hay maybe there is something for them as well.

It isn’t hard to see there is a better way. I genuinely believe and it is my opinion but overwhelmingly more people actually dislike the amount of RNG associated with their gear drops. It isn’t like we have a choice to turn it off so the only numbers you have are with people engaging with the system.

So no one really knows. Well know one knows more then the fact that subs are very low. I guess around 2 million if that and it is a fraction of the 10 million subs this game once had when it was designed better.

Are there any class reworks in 8.1.5?

No major overhauls. They’ll be looking at talent balance and specific abilities that could use some love. The reworks that happened in 7.1.5 in Legion, happened in 8.1 instead.

Blizzard realized that when they said “major changes” to Shaman in 8.1 it was misinterpreted as expecting much more than Blizzard was doing.

Blizzard deserve the memes at this point, becoming a joke

I do believe someone asked if we could have all 50 character slots on one realm. Ion said they could do it. Does that mean no more charging for chracter transfers? That might be a very good way to get more people on dying realms.

just because he “jokes” with “we will take pet battles questions” and so on he’s funny…

when there’s a CLEAR ignore on feedback shown on isles expedition 4th feedback thread… which again isles are being ignored after the feedback…

Players know that this Q&A does nothing for the real questions players have in the end and how players constantly have to wait for months when the fix can happen in a hotfix…

Not sure I understand how that fixes a problem. Some of us ran out of room and have characters on other realms that I am sure Blizzard can’t wait to charge us to move.

Vendors, vendors, VENDORS!!!

I still like valor point upgrades rather then just having a small random chance of something upgrading. I could rabble on about it, but I just feel like there is so much more possible potential on the valor point upgrade system vs random chances for item upgrades. There is more control from the player when it comes to upgrading.

Ion we will all be waitinng for 8.1.5 character slot limit removal so we can have 50 toons on 1 realm

I miss the old profession systems. I miss the days where I would see people advertise in trade, linking there professions such as BS or LW and offering there skills. Those people were unique, especially if they had a formula that dropped from the new raid and others didn’t have it yet. The Social Aspect involved from professions is essentially gone. It was such a good feeling when you had a new pattern, and another player gave you all the mats to craft that item, and you got a nice tip from it!

Soulbound reagents & items are basically hurting the profession system now of days. What was wrong with having three new Bind on Equip formulas/patterns every tier? And Having them shared to other people? All the unique armors that you can craft are now just for you and for you only. Its not very exciting.

Thread about exactly that just got 404’d. Speed between flagging and the 404 indicates it was Blizzard being unable to face the reality that “No, you CANNOT infer that your customers are dumb…even politely.”

I got banned for a day for saying that exact thing

One good thing I remember about the vendors, even after you got all the loot from the dungeon people (I did) would still run them to get the tokens so the queue times were really fast.

I really wish they’d change tailors to make bag upgrades instead of stand-alone bags.

I don’t want to have 6x [Maximum Level Bags]… I want to have the cool bags I’ve found in dungeons or bought from vendors over the years… Onxyia Hide Bag, Paris Hilton bag, etc… Let us use those bags and then upgrade them to whatever the maximum slots is for the expansion. Then when the next expansion comes out, we just buy more upgrades instead of replacing them entirely again.

Would have loved to see a response about the sentiment on Horde bias and how the developers see this.

Also curious when the next expansion will hit.

Also also curious when we’ll get more concrete news about the allied race system and what’s next.

See… I’m more looking forward to something else at this point. Bad for Azeroth I’m kinda done with and I’m going to focus on other things for awhile.

I felt like this Q&A was on par for the recent course. My feedback: your response should justify itself. Don’t spend effort trying to convince us why we’re not smart enough to comprehend the hill you’ve chosen to die on; what you say, or rather what actions you take, should convey why you’re right quite nicely… if you’re right.

The VoD is available if you missed it and let us know how you think it went.

I think there was more than one question that was flat out ignored.

Omg… my daughter keeps getting this one and she’s so frustrated by it. I haven’t found a way to fix it for her.

Hmm see why Ion couldn’t cut it as a litigation attorney. Contrary to what most people think, bullsh@t doesn’t work in a courtroom. You actually have to have answers.
