Literally Nothing Wrong with Battle Chickens

First, lets clear up some common misonceptions:

You need to be Gnomish Engineering to use a Battle Chicken

  • This is something people have been getting around since OG Vanilla. You level up gnomish engineering and get all the trinkets, drop the profession, and relevel Goblin Engineering with all those trinkets still usable. I believe you can straight up change specializations with TBC release.

People are logging out and stacking dozens of Squawk buffs

  • This was changed a few weeks before the nerf patch, and hasn’t affected the game in over a month. There is a blue post on it.

This Trivializes already Trivial Content

  • This point I can agree with, but how many of these claims are from people that were clearing SSC or TK in Week one? Week two? Post Nerf? You can’t exactly call it trivial when Blizzard had to Nerf current content for people to clear it. I don’t think a 5% haste buff on a 20 minute cooldown is going to make certain bosses “trivial”, but it can help progression.

This is ruining parses!

  • Warcraftlogs is not owned by Blizzard, and are a separate entity. If you have an issue with how battle chickens are interpreted in logs, I advise you to bring it up with Warcraftlogs.

With that out of the way, there’s nothing wrong with how Battle Chickens work, or how you can guarantee their proc. If you’re min-maxing your character for dps performance, you’re already engineering, so I fail to see where the issue lies with them. This seems like an issue of the community begging Blizzard to take away toys because other people are having fun with them.

I mean…this was the argument for the drum meta but that got changed. Seems pretty similar IMO.

I don’t PvE but 25% haste seems a bit over-the-top.

Well you missed a couple things.

Proc rate is random… yeah you can force it. But still kinda a pain in the butt

Forces engineering. Yes I know engi is the bis profession anyways and things like rocket boots are already required for the top guilds… but it forces anyone who even attempts to parse into engi. The entire goal of drums was to prevent that.

Everyone who isn’t a melee parser in the raid is bored outta their mind waiting for the 5 zugs to do their chicken. “Hey guys chicken up in 3 mins we are gonna wait here on this super simple boss, sorry your flask will tick for our buff”

I’m melee, I use chicken, its fun… but I’m totally okay with a fix. 100% proc, 4m buff, 4m "chicken pox’ debuff, and only 1 buff at a time. Remove the 20m CD as well. Easy

false, only gnomish to make it. I use mine after rerolling goblin all the time

He literally states in the line above this is a common misconception. Then the next line explains the way around it. Reading comprehension FTW.

It’s a list of misconceptions at the start.

That’ll teach me to read/respond while hoofing it across AV… Back to netflix

if nerfed again just make it so it doesn’t stack… but imo current chickens are fine

Could do that, but make the duration longer and a definite guaranteed proc. I think that’s a good middle ground
