So I saw a player using some sort of “jetpack” toy that thrust his character 45-60 yards up in the air… he used it a couple times in the match actually. From what I saw he used it to get to an (normally) inaccessible/glitchy ledge to troll people while up there
Anyways, I was wondering what this toy might be??

It’s an Engineering thing, if I recall right. Dunno the name though, sorry.
Are you sure it was a jetpack? I know that the gnomish gravity well can be used in a lot of non flying places to get up onto normally inaccessible places. Each expansion that comes and goes, they seem to be getting more and more wise about blocking its use though lol
The only “jetpack” I can think of is the Gnomish Gravity Well.
It shoots you up in the air about the same distance as a normal jump, but it has no cooldown, so you can spam it and just fly straight up in the air.
Each time you use it tho, it has a chance to fail, and apply a debuff for like 15(?) Seconds where you can’t use it anymore, and you might fall to your death.
The recipe is under Classic engineering iirc and you need Gnomish Engineering to use it.
NVM it’s Cata engineering, I checked.
There’s helmets that does that, as well as several items, most of them expansion zone specific:
Has a few other items for propelling one skyward.
There is also a jetpack one can get from the Forbidden Reach vault. One of my toons has one still in their bags, much to my susprise. Could be that, maybe?
Speaking of, why don’t we have a jetpack mount yet?
