Here is a list of talents that are either never used, low value or undesirable but necessary for path progression.
This is largely for mythic plus.
-Front of the Pack (Dead)
-Ursoc’s Endurance
(Decent talent, but mostly overlooked for better choices)
-Bristling Fur (Weak in comparison to Brambles)
-Layered Mane (Low Value, too costly.)
-Reinforced Fur (Good talent, steep investment)
-Reinvigoration (Value lowered due to Berserk: Persistence)
-Guardian of Elune (Inferior to After the Wild Fire)
-Pulverize (Low value, outdated activation requirement.)
-Convoke (Weak in comparison to Incarnation)
-Untamed Savagery (Solid talent made worse by he Ursoc’s Fury and Thrash CD nerf)
-Raze (Bugged)
-Thorns of Iron (Weak output in a competitive row)
-Moonless Night (Weak output in a competitive row)
-Lunar Beam (Weak output, long cd, the most insulting final capstone of them all.)
-All the Berserk modifiying talents. (Clearly of value, but absurd in cost. Also forced to be taken due to pathing progression.)
This of course is my opinion. However, most builds on wowhead or icyveins exclude the vast majority of these listed talents. When taken they are either used for pathing progression or because the alternative choices are just as bad if not worse.
Build options for bear are largely unsynergistic and uninspired leaving little option for diversity or creativity. Our tree feels like it’s mostly undesirable passives of old giving it the imperssion that our tree was made as an afterthought. Why? Why does it feel like Guardian was neglected during the development cycle? Where was the carefully planned and well thought out implementation of this revised talent tree that our counter parts were afforded? Why does it feel that the tools given do not allow us to stand on equal footing?
