Wow! yellow/blue, and a woman on top of that? talk about a rare coincidence! (for those who don’t know, yellow/blue is the rarer form of colourblindness, and women who are colourblind are much rarer since the defect is carried on the X chromosome, thus for women to be CB they have to have both affected Xs, while men only have the 1. My mom was colourblind, so all her boys are as well, and her daughters are carriers.)
I’m red/green colourblind, and find some dungeons or world boss fights nearly impossible because there are a LOT of red and green effects. I can’t see them, they are all just the same colour of glowy crap on the ground.
Don’t like addons? Don’t use them. No one in these threads is anywhere a near world first on any level, so go compete with yourself if you are so concerned about the “game being too easy with addons.” For people with physical disabilities, these addons allow us to play the game and enjoy things we otherwise could not. This has no bearing on you, your loot, or your performance. Stop policing things that you don’t like because you can’t handle other people enjoying themselves. Make a no-addon Guild if you’re so keen on having everyone around you playing your way, and leave everyone else alone to make their own choices.
The only addon that’s a bother is the guild invite one. If people who use that addon can just stop with the whispers, I’d be less bothered. There are merits to some (not all) addons being a bother, of other people. I don’t think Weak Auras nor DBM is a bother, however. It’s certainly not whispering me, when I’m out minding my own business. The only addon that does that is the guild invite one. That one needs to go/be banned/nerfed/die in a fire.
I advise people like us need to report these people for spam and get the Squelch/Silence penalty on their account, so the whispers stop. Maybe (I doubt it), they’ll think twice about sending out more whispers 'cause they’re getting Squelched/Silenced.
That doesn’t solve the problem. It just ignores it. Plus, even having the separate window, there’s still the highlight, and I want to make the highlight stop. Plus, I don’t like having a million whisper tabs per spammer.
Players shouldn’t have to do this. These spammers need to be Squelched/Silenced to really get the point across 'cause what they’re doing IS spamming which is against the rules. These people with this addon are worse than Gold Spammers.
and DBM and BigWigs have been around since Vanilla. They’re not going anywhere, either.
There is an argument to be made for limits on what WA can do, but again, most of the complaining being done is from people who clearly don’t understand the breadth of what auras are used for. WA isn’t going anywhere, either, but there are some limits they might reasonably put in place.
The rest of this…is just people who don’t use add-ons wanting everyone else to be forced to play the game their way, and that’s not how this works.
It does solve the problem FOR YOU. Can’t imagine what kind of problem solvers you guys are in real life. It definitely solves the problem FOR ME. In that I hear the whisper noise, I look at whisper tab, it’s no one I know, so I ignore it. Go back to normal tab, carry on with life.
Imagine saying you get whispered for guild invites every 5 steps as a level 1or 10 players in 2022. I’ve been guild less on all of my alts, 60 alts, on the biggest Horde server in WoW and I’ve only been whispered a handful of times. You’re all full of crap.
And you’re all blaming an addon when most of those people are prob just cutting and pasting it. lol.
the only limitations I think are warranted are the addons that make the economy system so scued to the ones who send 24/7 in the auction house, basically bots
The box is already blocked with the in game system of turning that off. It does not stop the whispers. They shouldn’t be spamming whispers and need to be punished for it.
No, you are. Your experience is not MY experience. I’ve been spammed whispered on a large server, and it’s really annoying. There’s a reason why I’m not in public chats because I don’t want to see that crap. And, I’m not going to continue to go back on forth on this. This addon is invasive and intrusive.
I’ve checked the addon and see the option to include a whisper. Stop with the whispers, and I wouldn’t hate the addon so much. Nobody is taking the time to copy & paste a message but use an addon to send out a g invite LOL When, the g invite and whisper are sent at the same time ('cause my husband doesn’t block his guild invites, and they both come at the same time. It’s not a copy & paste)
Guild Invite addons that include whispers need to be banned or nerf the whisper portion.
EDIT: My husband’s counter is to join these cesspool guilds and post his macro that tricks people to /gquit LOL
EDIT 2: Again, I’m not going to go back and forth about it, anymore. There’s rules against spamming, and people who do it need to be rightfully reported, and I do report them, everytime. So, enjoy having the last word and being spammed whispered. I’ll continue to report these spammers as spammers 'cause that’s what they’re doing.
