Let’s see if Blizzard sticks to the notion that they don’t want addons tracking cooldowns. If they do, they’ll immediately break whatever workaround Liquid found. If they don’t, they’re just kowtowing to world first raiders again.
Best option: Break it now.
Second best option: Break it in 12.1, and not a moment before, so everyone can equally access it.
Worst option: Let it exist for the RWF then break it immediately after.
You do realize that the moment Blizz breaks it for them, the moment other addons (usually ones not even related) get screwed, as well, right?
Edit: nevermind. I just read about it. There’s nothing wrong with what it does. Max from Liquid explained how it all works months ago and just explained today that Blizz is aware and there’s nothing wrong with it. They’ve been in communication with Blizz about this since they started messing with addons after the API changes. So unless something goes overboard as time goes on, it’s fine for now.
“Nothing wrong with it” except we’re all being told to be prepared to realm transfer so we can use it ourselves. It only works because of a quirk of same-realm API access.
