Linxy, it's time. Blood elf druids

I don’t think orcs are really cut out for nature magic. I mean, they’re literally descended from a rock that was made to destroy nature magic.

Gnomes and humans and etc. didn’t go run off with Illidan to be Illidari. Elfs did. If there were no factions I’m pretty sure only Night Elfs would have been DHs, but yeah, making other races DHs doesn’t make sense without a massive bastardization/retconning of the lore. Which WoW is totally game for - just look at Shadowlands. So I guess we never know with this writing team.

Sounds fair :dracthyr_shrug:

Mag’har might be, I feel like the Bonechewers are chaotic enough to stumble into shapeshifting accidentally.

They have that connection to the Primals and Genosaurs too, which are something I feel is definitely going to come back up whenever we explore the Lifelands or whatever they call it. Zereth Victis lol

Yes, I’m aware, which is why I said this:

Yes, we will destroy it. But to do so we must learn its ways. Learn to think like nature, if we are to kill it.

The biggest issue Blizz is likely having adding other classes to Dracthyr is no definable place where a Dracthyr “ends” and Evoker “begins”. The two are so intermixed right down to racials…

Lore aside, and druid specific, I’d like to see Nightborne, Draenei (both), Gnome (both), Orc (both), and Dracthyr druids… why? Zandalari trolls got fancy and impressive race appropriate new forms… I want to see it with these races…
Nightborne have already been stated by Blizz a long time ago that it’s a race they want to find a way to give them a druid treatment, in some form or another of posts and interviews…
Draenei would give impressive options for less “traditional” forms thanks to their ties to Draenor and their original homeworld in turn… we haven’t seen a non explodey Argus, but we’ve seen fel-twisted creature which could be interesting from a druid form perspective…
Orcs, primarily siding through the Wild god Goldrinn with various wolf and dire wolf variants (probably inciting complaints from worgen druids who argue they should also have similar forms so sure, redo Worgen and give them a choice of what forms to take)
Gnomes… c’mon… teddy bear form, kitten form, actual Boom-chicken form… you can’t tell me you’re not sold just on the thought of a Westfall chicken laserbeaming in pvp
Dracthyr for similar reasons as Draenei… adding draconid transformations are well up there with some interesting options, and a few things I won’t mention at risk of having people cry fowl…err foul… on dragonflight favortisms

Or… save all my arguments and just give druids the ability to actively choose a beast in the world to represent them in appropriate forms… I never did like the moonkin form personally…

There’s one human DH actually.

Blood elves were explicitly being trained as Illidari demon hunters back in Burning Crusade. Illidan had very few night elf followers but a surplus of Kael’s blood elves, why wouldn’t he try to bolster his ranks?

Female trolls have been cute since vanilla. Still can be if you don’t pick the fugly face options.

Highborne wasn’t a race it was a political group within Night Elven society. Being Highborne just meant you were of high social standing.

The elves were all together at Nordrassil when Ysera made the deal with the elves to make their connection to the Emerald Dream and to nature.

I’m gonna have to dig my books out, so it’s gonna be a few before i can give you the exact page.

.-. No it isnt fair. Cause the point was your position is silly. Sometimes lore can and should be bent if it provides more entertainment to the players.
But again belf druids are in lore already sooooo.

This is all they would need to explain any race being any class it can’t currently be.

The other high elves, the Nightborne, have High Botanist Tellarn, which is remarkably similar in name to High Botanist Freywinn, which casts Nature, Arcane, and Solar spells. He is in Botani form, his version of Moonkin form I would assume, and is obviously a druid analog.

So apparently we have the bones for an order of druids separate from the Cenarion Circle with amazingly similar abilities and connections to Nature, just like the Kul Tirans do.

If they added in an order of High Botanists trying to reforest the Ghostlands, threw in a few NPCs outside of Tranquilien talking about how important it is, and added a class trainer to Silvermoon… well then you have it all wrapped up in a bow.

How about this guy since he’s already referenced in game, that longterm players might remember and bam, look at that…

We’ve got a class trainer!

You’re right, it would require some changes to add other classes for Dracthyr to play, so it’s not something I would expect within 3 years, but it is something they could do for the expansion following the next one.
And I’d be on board for a mini rework to some racials or abilities to open the Dracthyr up to Druids, Shammys, Warriors, and Hunters at the very least.

You will never sell me on Gnome druids - ever lol. But, I’d be sooooo on board for Dracthyr, Nightborne, Draenei, and Orc druids!! The Emerald Dream is not something they can’t fit other races into, they just have to give us believable lore for it to work - which wouldn’t be hard. Trying to make anything other than a NE/Belf into a DH would be incredibly hard and pretty silly, but adding the classes you mentioned (minus gnomes) to the Emerald Dream lore and/or making an avenue for them to be druids could easily be done imo!

I would love for the expansion after this next one to be something that focuses on things like this, new class/race combos and hopefully another class and race within 4-6 years.

Yes, they also have a nature caster, but not a druid. That’s like saying they have priests so they must have paladins, or they have warlocks so they must have demon hunters.

Also Tellarn’s form ability is actually more like a monk’s Earth, Wind, and Fire in that he’s splitting into different elementally focused versions of himself, a very cool mechanic and a unique ability but not something druids have ever really done.

I know, but I still don’t think they would have made Belfs DHs for Legion’s new class if it wasn’t for factions.
We’ll never know since there will always be factions in this game - 60yo men would cry if there weren’t. But I still think even with BC, there’s a good chance Nelfs/Nelf-models would have been the only DHs if Blizz didn’t have to worry about providing a DH for each faction.

Would 100% throw my money for a race change, like instantly.

I always wear helms on my trolls and rarely play them, they are just ugly.

It’s why my main Druid is Alliance :stuck_out_tongue:

They could easily tie this to story about healing the land and the dead scar.

He literally provided plausible lore that would fit in the universe. At this point its just a matter of you personally not wanting belf druids so your gonna reject every possible way for them to exist.
