Lineage 2 classic

Is it good/worth playing while waiting for classic?
I tried it briefly. Just couldn't get over how bad the controls were. That said, it's free, so it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot.
Yeah I'll give it a go tomorrow. Final fantasy is free till 35 too so I'm going to try that as well. Thanks for the heads up
i dont think i ever met smn who equilly liked lineage and wow.
there is always either that or this when it comes to those 2 games and i dno why
i perosonally tried lineage...and no i wont try again. if u a fan of wow i can guarantee you, that game wont capture u at all
I played Lineage ][ before World of Warcraft came out. Played for a few years too. So my experiences are from when it was popular.

I had a...72(?) Duelist. First, there is no WASD movement. All click to move. You adjust to it, but it still sort of sucks.

The grind. After about level 30, one mob nets you .01% exp. You can do quests, but they make you travel all over the map for, like, .03% exp. Its quicker to grind mobs. I spent months in TOI grinding. I'm talking 8h+ days to gain half a level. If you die, you lose about 50% exp.

Traveling sucks. You can port, but it costs so much adena (gold) its worthless. To compare, imagine flight paths in WoW costing $15k each. Sure, you could do it but you'd probably be walking. And walking from town to town can take you over an hour.

There is no health regen. You have to sit and "rest". Its actually a skill. You sit down to regen after a fight.

You can enchant your weapons with soulshot which makes your weapons do something like 80% more damage. But each swing costs a soulshot. And they get expensive.

PvP is rough. If you kill someone without them attacking you, you turn red; or a PKer. Once red, people can kill you without penalty. In fights, you have something like a 50% chance to drop a piece of gear except your weapon.

Castle sieges. Were. AWESOME. Hundreds of players battling it out. And you had to commit too. If you died, you could drop a weapon and lose about two month's of exp. But if you got the castle, you gained control of the town and your guild got all the tax income from the town. I was in two castle sieges. The first one I died about 4m in. Second time I made it past the walls, but was killed inside. We took it over though.

My account was compromised by an "addon". I was naive and installed it. Player got control of my account and cleared it out. All gone. SQE was impossible to work with and I lost everything. That was about three weeks before WoW came out. So I switched over.

Going from WoW to Lineage ][, forget it. You won't last a day. Imagine driving 200 miles a day to work in a Cadillac. Then switch to a skateboard with three wheels while pushing a shopping cart with a rattling tire. Its painful and frustrating. It was fun at the time, but I had no other experiences with any other MMOs at the time.

Greetings,

Actually, when I had my first contact with Lineage II I’ve felt that classic MMORPG sensation. However, when you had the experience with World of Warcraft and Guild Wars 2, that is, the big bosses MMORPG, you can’t play another one without compare it with these “big bosses”.

I mean, when you have a “big bag” of content possibilities in a game, as you have in World of Warcraft, you’ll feel a hard difficult gameplay in that game.
Another point, in my opinion, is the diferece between World of Warcraft lore and the other ones. We reached 14 years of lore construction, and that’s means a - almost - impossible barrier to another game destroy.

In short, you can try it just for fun, in other words, you’ll not have a real MMORPG experience as you can enjoy in Azeroth.

If you want decent free games to play, i’d give Smite, Warframe, or TERA a shot.
