So this in regards to things like the summer event, but generally any holiday event that last a week or two but the mounts+cosmetics are still RNG.
Before anyone thinks I am whining I already have all or at least most of the things I am talking about, for example I got the summerfest drake transmog today and already had the others like Headless Horseman and Love Rocket but I still think everyone should be able to get them if they want without waiting a year for another try.
I don’t know how rng it is if you get the stacking buff.
Ive pulled an event item twice out of my first kill. While a small sample size most people I know have gotten 1 of the drops in the last 3 days. Be it a scythe or dragonriding manuscripts
I think for the most recent Love is in the Air people still went the entire event without seeing it drop and they ran it every day. Sure a few may be lying and actually skipped some days but I don’t think everyone is.
I am not sure if the noblegarden had a random mount did it?
They know but they do it anyway because it makes the daily active user numbers look better than they actually are.
It had one from killing the daily boss ( world quest). Was a carpet. I have no idea if it has a stacking buff or not but its default drop was close to 20%.
Had multiple copies farming the quest for easy xp on alts.
That’s cool but even at 20% if it was a 14 day event, I think? Someone would have to check my math but that still is like a 2% chance for someone to do it every day and not get it that feels bad.
If it’s the carpet I had that year one but had I not gotten it and if I had wanted it I think it’s lame to be like come back next year.
I don’t think it matters to much… I can’t see anything wrong with adding them to vendors for the event currency for rng protection.
There are over a thousand mounts and mogs. I don’t mind a few being chancey to get long as its reasonable and not a 1 in 10000 thing.
