Limit 1 Character Per HC Server

Just a suggesstion, limit 1 alive character per account for HC Server. It will reduce people conception that 1 soul can live in multiple bodies. So you don’t need focus on multiple different characters and keep on improving instead of looking back to low level alts.

It can minimize gold buying as you don’t need gold as much as you do if you have too many characters.

If you tired playing that character, you can choose to suicide and reborn. Before that you can entrust your wealth or items to someone you can trust. Or if gold and item can be put into bank before you died and accessible by your new character. Like real life, bank keep your wealth safe and pass along to your successor.

No. Just… no. I’ve always enjoyed having multiple toons, so I can park one at the inn to gain their rested xp buff back for a week or two as I’m playing on an alt. I also like being able to switch things up between classes. There’s a LOT of other altoholics like myself, and this would not go over well AT ALL with a big chunk of the player base.

The only reason you might want to consider only one character per HC realm is to prevent you siphoning off gold and BoEs to a bank alt for new go-aganes or random alts to build themselves up with. But this wouldn’t really prevent that from happening though, people would just have a second account or a friend to hold stuff for them. Plus, there’s no harm in twinking or funding new runs/alts anyway as

  1. It’s extremely time consuming and expensive to twink a character, many many people will fail to actually achieve this. The ones who actually manage it deserve to enjoy the benefits it gives for the few levels the items are relevant for.
  2. Funded alts/new runs aren’t going to be any less likely to die, they’ll just have a better time affording bags and skills. Lack of money and bag space don’t make the game harder, it’s just an inconvenience that makes you waste a bit more time in the early levels. After level 20 you’re in full quest greens and world drops anyway, who cares if you gifted yourself a few leveling greens to help you get there? You’re still 98% likely going to die (only 1.8% actually make it to 60)

I don’t understand your reasoning at all here, it’s a bit nonsense.

If you want to level many different alt for the rested exp, it’s basically doable in any other server.

Alts in Hc actually does not really make sense.

If you die in dungeon, different with the hc addon, you can say to the other members in the group, “Wait, I have another character that can come”.

It will defeat the purpose of 1 life.

And it is not for twinking. More for the people who is tired of life (playing the same character) after higher levels.

The purpose is to make that you don’t lose everything (entrusted in bank or friend) once you die. Basically, it’s the idea of passing along some of your old progress in HC to the new characters.

Entrusting wealth to other account or friends is okay for me as you will be paying with your own money and connections. It is the same in real life, if you died, your child will get something either from your saving or help from friends.

Lvl 30 wealth is overwhelming for Lvl 10 characters. You will not need to buy gold unless of course you want to equip them with blues. And as you progress with your character, you will get more gear and gold to self sustain your character as blizzard plan to allow Trading, Mail and AH.

Even paying high level boosting have limited impact with the miniscule exp in HC, so basically you will only get gear which already have the minimum level requirement and the 24 hrs dungeon cd.

It will defeat the purpose of 1 life. Ummm no it doesn’t

Actually it would increase the need for gold. If I have my own tailor, miner/BS, herb/alch, and skinner /LW, I don’t need the AH for random crafting items. I’ve played this way for years.

Have you participated in hardcore at all? This scenario you’re talking about doesn’t happen. 90% of the time if someone dies it’s a wipe, or the survivors drop group and pray for a teleport out before they die, at which point the dungeon run is dead. The rest of the time the group may try to finish as a 4 man, but that’s very uncommon.

I’m still not sure what point you’re actually arguing for, do you just feel personally like you’re “splitting your soul” across characters? That sounds like a very personal RP for you, so you could just limit yourself to only having one character at a time /shrug.

While I understand your reasoning behind your suggestion, unfortunately it wouldn’t work out the way you think it would.
Gold buyers would just purchase another account. They obviously don’t mind spending money on getting ahead in WoW so they would just buy another account to have a 2nd character on that HC server.
Also, I definitely love playing on an alt while my main gets a little bit of rested xp (or I just need to take a break from that class’s playstyle).

I’ve been playing HC for a while, and don’t know a single other player in the guild I’m in that DOESN’T have at least one or two alts. We play on our main until it’s out of rested xp, then hop over to an alt and do the same thing, then switch back to the main or to another alt. Each toon of course only has 1 life, and if they die, they get deleted (I’ve lost plenty of them)

If YOU don’t want to play that way, that’s perfectly fine, but it’s absurd to suggest imposing your preferred playstyle on everyone else.

Blizzard Hardcore does not limit alts joining the groups, if the 1st character died.

I feel this will just make the same group that was so desperate to journey with their friends, just as mad now with the xp nerfs with higher level chars. youll have a friend that doenst play for a day or two now getting boosted open world by his friend that leveled up 6 to 12 times no? and not be able to run dungeons with his friend.
i agree though the banking all your inventory so you can just send it over when you need is mad cheesey. Kinda kills the neeed for a bank as well since i can just spam a bunch of chars and use them as my bank.
Let both the character and the inventory they hold be mortal.

You’re talking about a medium core server here. There are going to be multiple ways to cheese the experience.
I’ll have 10 character slots available on my account for that server and I’ll fill them all if I see fit. I like to play more than one class.

I think 1 server with one character only would be interesting. Got to trade stuff. Not stockpile and kinda just play. But the free tokens from other versions of wow. Everyone would have alt accounts… would be to hard for that challenge of getting it accomplished. But would be very interesting if u could pull it off

Cool so I either play with my girlfriend or I play with my friend, and if for some reason I actually want to play by myself I guess I just can’t now.

Thanks for the absolutely dented brained opinion Enlaiken. Blizzard devs may be awful but atleast they aren’t you.

No, terrible idea.

Sure, Jan.

Sounds like a good idea in theory but really all you’re doing is rewarding those with multiple accounts and “punishing” those without.

What is the point

It’s my turn guys. Can I do it?..

No. Never.

(but actually)

You can limit yourself to one character if you like, there’s no need to force it on everyone else.
