Lightwell issues

Even though lightwell was buffed i still think it doesn’t get all of the usage out of the talent compared to lightweaver. Why doesn’t blizzard copy lightwell to be light sphere of healing essence for heart of azeroth. Im not sure if that is the correct name but i think its close.

it basically did the same thing but moved with you only difference was that you had to heal to make the HOA essence work and collect overheals

I like the talent for 2s in which it can feel op not going to lie so maybe that’s why they don’t like it to be able to move.

sorry i get this may more so be a beef with my tank and team running away from it immediately as its put down for whatever reason lol

Increase the range on Lightwell and bump the threshold to like 65-75% and I think it’d be amazing.

Really it needs a couple things IMO:

  1. First and foremost, it needs to be movable
  2. It needs to gain increased healing from Twist of Fate and Desperate times. Currently, neither of those talents work with lightwell, which is REALLY funny for desperate times especially, because it reads like a perfect synergy and it’s the talent before it - but it doesn’t work.
  3. It needs to not overwrite itself on people - or prioritize targets without it (currently it can just randomly apply it to the same person repeatedly until that person is above 50%).

It already does surprisingly respectable healing despite not interacting with our talents well - but the fact it can’t be moved makes it near unusable. Modern WoW just has too many fights that require moving around everywhere.

It’s called Wellspring - and yeah, to have all overhealing be stored in that and then released into a large heal would be great!

My biggest issue with Lightwell is that it barely has any synergy with existing Holy talents as it currently exists. When going down to the bottom left capstone talent on the tree, many of the talents you have to pick up have natutal synergies with Lightweaver, and none with Lightwell. More than just being undertuned numerically, chosing the talent feels unintuitive when all nodes taken to get to it encourage Lightweaver as the natural choice.

Imagine if if, while it has charges and nobody is below its % threshold, it simply casts Renew on a random ally every 5-6 seconds, or tosses out a stack of PoM.

The heal from it needs to count as one of those two. Being its own unique heal is the problem.

It is affected by the 20% bonus

The problem with Lightwell is its just not a good end tree ability. It’d be fine higher up in the tree as a choice node with Cosmic Ripple or something.

Just even if you proc it all 15 times the overall healing is too small. Divine Image does many times the overall amount of healing.

Pretty sure the tooltip is wrong, and it’s healing far more than the tooltip says, by the way.

I for fun messed around with it, and it was doing a big chunk of healing. But it still just feels really unusable because its niche is SO small.

I did a test with Lightwell and w/ 2 points in Desperate Times it did 1.8 mil healing. It does what the tooltip says, but it’s getting an inflated +30% healing bonus from Twist of Fate + Desperate Times. It also doesn’t trigger Echo of Light.

With 24% crit rate it’s average tick was 28.6k x3 = 85.8k.

The biggest issue with LW is its 20 yard heal range, it can’t be moved, and there’s just better talents. If I’m raid healing I want Miracle Worker + Divine Image so I can print out Holy Words and reactivate Holy Word Salvation faster.

For M+ it’s the same deal. You’d only ever use LW on a couple of bosses, but even then you’re not sitting in the same spot for very long.

That is a lie lol. The potential healing of lightwell is absolutely absurd. It’s getting the charges used up that’s the issue. Same with getting value out of Desperate Times. If you’re constantly healing people so they never dip below 50% you’re not getting much value.

Light Well has been secret tech carrying me on tyran Naraxas and solo clutch healing heroic bosses.

It only shines when you’re not doing well, so overall it might seem mid.

A single charge can heal for ~100k or more.

The tooltip is showing per tick, the tooltip wording is wrong.

That’s been my experience.

I don’t know that it’s better than any other final talent, though. I also don’t know where you’re placing it in Naraxas to get value, LOL. Even tossing it near melee they’ll eventually move to the other side and I only use half its stacks or something.

I was using Lightwell on Mythic Rashok prog last night because this guy seriously slaps on healing requirements. You basically get a 50%+ uptime on Twist of Faith that entire fight and 2 points in Desperate Times is a huge hps boost.

Each time I dropped it: it did about 1.6-1.9 mil healing to the group. It’s about a 6 minute fight and all the charges get eaten pretty fast. It was doing 4mil+ healing (almost double what Divine Hymn does) on our <20% kills. I never got to use it the 3rd time so it’s easily a 6mil heal.

The thing is that I traded Miracle Worker for it so I lost in theory 4-5 extra charges of Sanctify which does about 500k healing a cast since everyone is so stacked (plus it scales with Mastery unlike Lightwell). So overall I’m not sure if using Lightwell even gave a sizable hps bonus.

For M+ I don’t think I’d use it because the 2-piece + Answered Prayers leading to overflowing of Holy Words w/ Miracle Worker ends up being a large part of my toolkit to heal the group.

Lightwell is a great talent, but it needs its HP cutoff increased again.
If it was at 60-65%, it would feel much better as an actual cooldown.
If it remains at 50%, I honestly feel like it should float beside us at the very least.

This 100% IMO it should be 70-75%.

It’s way too binary as it is.

Just make Lightwell act like a Healing Tide Totem. You put it down and it pulses out healing over 10s and disappears. It’d turn into a 3rd raid healing cd.

the spell that lightwell needs to be remodeled after is well of existence
