Wish there was a place to put feedback that might actually be useful, but after playing alot of prot pally in dungeons, I really wish they would make Holy Armaments and WoG off the GCD for prot.
I need every GCD I can get to generate holy power, and throwing these out (which is core to the Lightsmith CDR rotation) delays the active rotation in a way that feels clunky.
Take them off the GCD and the spec would play perfectly.

I gave similar feedback on how it currently feels for Holy. With early expansion stats (ie low haste), spending a global on the weapons feels so bad and sluggish.

Ugh, please. I like lightsmith, but it’s really clunky right now. Why can’t blizzard design and stat-scale stuff so it starts out an expansion feeling good, and not require a ton of haste to get there? ._.

I love Bulwark but getting around 10% of your dps just of passives in weapons doesnt feel as good either. They either need to rework how armaments work or remove it from GCD. For holy, tank healing is not really that valuable, even after tank nerfs.
About the ability feeling bad, This goes both for Holy and Prot. You are completely right. It just completely disrupts the flow of our gameplay for both specs.
15% shield is not gonna matter much in high keys either and prot still has survivability issues.
The bulwark is ok. But even it feels a little clunky because it has a janky travel time and stacks up over 15 seconds. So the 15% shield it gives the target upfront is similar to a ST Prism crit.
IDK, feels like a scaling mess too because it scales off our HP and so I don’t know if it scales at all off Crit or Vers. It certainty won’t scale off Mastery, and it’s only really the global and the procs that can benefit from haste.

i like lightsmith so far but the armament feels like it should be either a passive = toss a 2-3 armament every 45sec to a random ally or even simpler just off the gcd so it can be macro with judgement or something.
the worst part of lightsmith it literally pressing the button.

Hit the nail on the head, really only reason I dislike Lightsmith.
I got a weirder idea.
Why not turn Holy Armament buff that covers the entire party like Blessing of Kings but the buff itself doesnt do anything until a ability is used.
For Prot it could be Avenging Shield (was thinking SotR but not sure how’d that work since Holy can use it), which causes the holy arms to become shields that reflect damage back at the enemy.
For Holy its LoD that causes the holy arms to become swords that heal on attacks.
For added fun, one of the more pointless talents could change the aforementioned skills. Like for AS maybe make it generate Holy Power again, and for LoD make it radiate out from the paladin in all directions instead of a stupid cone.
Again stupid but my idea was outside of the BoK like cast to mark your party, thr arms are used by used by pressing buttons we already have.

I feel like Light Smith really misses the mark, the active ability has pretty much zero visual feedback and the rest of the talents are so boring you could think you don’t even have a Hero tree active. Throw in talents that are so weak they’re laughable like Excoriation and you end up with a tree that was designed the day the task was due to be handed in.

My overall feedback for Lightsmith after spending a few days spamming Heroics,
If Blessings of Seasons wasn’t a thing I’d probably be less harsh on Lightsmith, just the introduction of another keybind and maintenance ability ontop of the fast playstyle, then throw in now 2 maintenance abilities and arguably stressful life as a healer is personally just too much for me to handle.
- Rite of Sanctification/Abjuration
Really cool idea, really I like the idea of a Holy Paladin “Blessing” their weapon, just for me it really doesn’t seem fully fleshed out, the bonuses seem very lacklustre, underwhelming and not really worth it from a PvE perspective.
Honestly it really doesn’t effect much, I may get another lay on hands in a dungeon/key, I’m already swarming with Infusion of Light procs. What would be nice is remove the Lay of Hands part and add it gives an additional charge of judgement, when Armaments fades it gives a charge of Judgment that activates as if it was used with Infusion of Light. So much synergy with Judgement (hammer and anvil), double down on it. Let me be throwing out holy hammers!.
Seriously rework this entirely, I think these two options are a complete waste of a choice node especially on a Hero Spec.
”Lightsmith is a very cool concept, but the lack of healing throughput, even really the additional damage it can bring in my eyes isn’t worth it over Herald of the Sun that essentially just makes how we play currently even better. Honestly unless dramatic changes happen I don’t think I’d ever touch Lightsmith again.”
”Personally aswell I dislike the addition of a new keybind/maintenance ability aswell.”
I did try to make it work, but honestly it just doesn’t feel smooth or good to play it adds extra complexity in a already complicated role, but you don’t even get the results. For me Lightsmith currently is a hard pass.
Imagine if Rite of Sanctifications and Adjuration were actually just good.
Sanctification could have been a juiced of Seal of Light that a Protection Paladin would want to use because it would make all of their attacks heal them (and only them) for a crap ton. Not enough to never need external healing, but enough to make them feel like a “safe” tank to use since they can at least keep themselves up for a second or two longer by just attacking.
And Abjuration being a juiced up Judgement of Light that splashed healing from Judgement and Crusader Strike (and maybe even Shield of the Righteousness since they’ll never remove it’s necessity for Holy and just bake it into LoD so we’ll actually want to use that spell but this is a whole different tangent). Again tuned to not be the end all be all, but gives it a reason to exist.
