just wondering what the latest is for elemental for top damage since the recent changes we’ve received. are people staying with fire for M+ and raids or is lightning the new way to go?
also for fire in a raid setting, what’s the ideal mastery levels i should aim for? im sitting around 40-44% mastery with the right gear but still feel i need a lot more
Personally I prefer lightning because of the consistency. I think that with 10.1 more people will gravitate to lightning regardless of if they buff lightning or not because the 2p/4p seems to really heavily favor it. Saw a vid of someone testing online w/ only chain lightning/FS cleave w/ primal storm ele @ 402 ilvl maintaining 150k or so so it seems pretty strong even at that lower gear level. I would personally like to see them buff interactions between the spell classes more to make it better and to make the choice between cleave/AoE less punishing for choosing one or the other.

It is just so fun … I think I prefer lightning for pve and meatball for solo and pvp

It’s not meta by any means but provides a fun burst window and a lot of functionality for world content 
Icefury/Primal wave followed by a flame shock on a 2nd target and then just go to town popping off meatballs, empowered frost shocks, and earth shocks /earthquakes.
Screw meta, I play for fun. Fun is more important than anything else.

At the beginning of the expansion I wanted to be lightning, but for some reason i am just not good at it. So many hard casts, and I just couldn’t make it work, the AoE was OK, but my ST was TERRIBLE.
I ended up really enjoying the Wildfire build. I think the tierset is perfect. It slightly benefits lightning a bit more, but still totally useful for any build, especially in mythic+… I can get storm keeper more often on Lava beams for mythic+.
