Lightforged

Hello, Wow community.
Returning player and wondering if Lightforged are worth the time to unlock.
I played very very little legion expansion so would be starting from scratch.

Depends really. How do you determine if it’s worth your time? Racials? Looks? Or do you just mean how long it would take or something?

At 62 it shouldn’t be too horrible

:man_shrugging: it’s a draenei. Play a standard draenei and it’s basically the same thing. Getting back to argus on a character that never went is confusing as all hell.

We were just talking about the time investment to unlock. they look the same as the base race. and the racial is an AOE holy damage. So kind of an upgrade for Pallies.

It’s not too bad, but it’ll be a couple hours. I don’t remember how long exactly it took me because I got them years ago, but at 62 you should be able to 1-2 shot everything to make it go by quicker.

Just need to start Argus and play through the whole story there. Argus story is a little long tho, but if you want Lightforged they’re one of the easier ones imo.

Should be able to pick up the Argus starting quest from Khadgar in Legion Dalaran, he should have a quest called “The Hand of Fate” (I think it should show up automatically if your 45+ but could be wrong) if you haven’t been to Dalaran yet, there should be a quest on the command board for Broken Shore, or you can take the portal in your capital city to Aszuna and fly to Dalaran (not sure if the quest will show up this way)

Once you finish Argus and get your achieve find the Embassy in Stormwind and do another (much shorter) questline for the actual unlock, and you can play as both Lightforged and Void Elves.

Excellent, thank you.

Are there any differences in PVE between standard and lightforged?

Wrong

Lightforged draenei can explode with light after death or summon a blacksmithing anvil for easy smelting

No idea honestly. I don’t mess with racials too much

There is. I believe you can check the character creation screen for the racials of both, but they’re often insignificant unless you’re a huge min maxer. Some do offer good quality of life, like the vulpera with the tent.

  1. we look nothing like the regular draenei…nothing.
  2. we explode on death.
  3. We have a fairly potent AoE racial, very good for leveling, not so much at high lvl.
  4. Heritage armor is pretty sweet.
  5. Summon the forge was way more handy than I originally thought it would be…crafting at the AH was such a time saver.

Not really no, they’re whole race could have been a barber shop customization.

Looks at alchemy and herbalism profs…

What’s the best name you’ll offer your Lightforged?

same with gnomes and tauren orcs dwarves trolls also

I worked to unlock it - race changed from Human… race changed back to Human.

Our appearances was given to regular dreanei actually minus the tattoo’s.

If it is a male refrigerator: LightBulb
If it is a female waggle machine: LightBright

It honestly doesn’t take long at all now to unlock Velfs and Lightforged. Just do the whole Argus storyline and that’s it. Pretty fast nowadays.

I think it was a worthy investment in time.

On the surface they are fine, however the racial gets no benefits from Holy damage modification or any of our abilities. Tbh I find regularly the Draenei heal is much better.

They basically handle the exact same so meh w.e ur preferences I do enjoy their tattoos more
