LightForged Undead and whats wrong w/ allied races

So we get evil foxes and Mechagnomes here soon.

Im curious as were did this fox come from, it’s race and origin and how come the alliance didn’t get the snake race?

I am up for Mechagnomes and think they are cool. Way cooler than a fox. I can 't wait to kick one off a cliff. But would have liked to see alliance get an animal race then as well.

Most allied races are just re-skins, but here is were the Alliance kind of gets the short end of the stick.

So the next race the alliance gets, is light forged undead or whatever you want to call them… At the very end of the war campaign/quest line you get a single quest to go meet Jaina and her undead brother and the Mentrill lady in Stormsong valley. And that is it, that’s the quest. TO listen to them talk and her brother states that lady Mentrill can give hope and help his fellow undead that did not take to Sylvanas. And that’s it, it was just to listen to them talk.

Not sure how I feel about this.

Void Elfs - are just blood elfs
Lightforged undead - just lighter colored undead?
(these are probably the 2 most popular horde races, is there a coincidence there, that they brought these 2 over to the Alliance but not any alliance chars over to the Horde?) Is this to help even or balance things out, as players will be attracted to created these new chars on the other faction?

Nightborne - are almost similar to nightelfs, but not quite. That’s the only allied race horde got that even closely resembles an alliance char.

Otherwise they got re-skins just as well, Orc, Troll, Taurens but then a completely new race, the evil foxes.

Can we see some snake love for the alliance.

One last thing, when you keep creating re-skins of the old races and call them new and give them new abilities, NO ONE REALLY WANTS TO PLAY THE OLD RACES AS MUCH. Keep that in mind Blizzard.

You’re speaking as though Lightforged Undead are definitely going to happen, which is nowhere near confirmed. The forum reaction to them is overwhelmingly “meh” (as opposed to the overwhelming “pleasegodno” for mechagnomes before their official debut).

Sethrak would be nice, and I think they’re probably the second-most requested Allied Race behind the knife-ears-that-shall-not-be-named. If they add LF Forsaken to the Alliance before this train wreck of an expansion is over it’ll pretty securely seal the fact that Blizzard has completely lost touch with their fanbase.

I agree with that, it’s just that single quest that was put in, makes it so, I think.

Why would a developer/game designer spend time making this quest, the dialog for it and then placing it at the end of the war campaign and all it is to do, is to listen to them talk.

And Blizzard had to pay this guy hours to get this done, so pretty sure that is for a reason. And that reason is the LF undead.

Vulpera are natives to Vol’dun and the Zandalar region. They’ve lived there pretty much forever as far as we know. They joined the Horde out of interest in allying with them and the Horde actively defended them during the campaign too.

Realistically sethrak are unlikely to ever happen. The Alliance have only one or two quests actually dealing with them. There’s no connection. And the sethrak have shown to be very independent. They’ve made no other moves to even get involved with the Horde either. As popular as they may be, Blizz isn’t going to agree with every request.

And lightforged undead aren’t in the cards. They don’t exist, Calia’s case is unique and not able to be replicated right now. The quest was to show what Calia intends on doing in the future, continuing her story arc, not to hint at them joining the Alliance.

It would make me happy if LF Undead became a thing. I could kill my favorite target on the Battlegrounds while playing Horde! It wouldn’t make any effing sense, but you could say the same for half the lore anyway - no loss there.

One of the various demigods that participated in the War of the Ancients was described as “a tiny red fox with a sly yet ‘gnomish’ visage scurrying between the legs of the giants”. It may have been related to the vulpera? No confirmation either way. Though the vulpera having some sort of connection to the Wild Gods makes a bit of sense, considering they’re a beast race like the harpies, furbolgs, and quilboar.

They just don’t have the time to fully develop races on the scale they are trying to put them out. And most of the developers play Horde, so Alliance is the side they’re going to cut corners on.

It sucks, but they have been doing it for 15 years. It is never going to change. Your options are to put up with it, roll Horde, or stop playing, because the developers do not care.

Because they have no reason to at all.

That is probably where blizzard got the idea for Vulpera visually speaking. Wouldn’t surprise me if that wild god was related to the Vulpera, like how Agamaggan is related to the Quilboar. Although I would like it to be true, maybe a shrine of it somewhere in Vol’dun or something. Ah well.

I’d be for it. Being the forgotten children of a dead demigod could have potential.
Or they could go nowhere with it.

Because the Alliance has no reputation associated with them and quests with them for all of <15 minutes while the Horde saved them and their loa. I’m baffled by how people still think sethrak joining the Alliance was ever on the table.

Of course they can be on the table. We had as much quests with them as you did the foxes.

And trust me that wasn’t to keep her story going, that quest was put in for LF undead. She had NO STORY ALL OF BFA, so why would they give her a 2 min quest to hear her talk???

I don’t care if snakes aren’t really with the alliance right now. You get evil foxes, we want snakes. The end.

^ Only race I have ever been excited for. I love the Sethrak.:snake:

And seriously, putting them on Alliance would not be that much of a stretch. There are hints here and there that could make it work.

While this is true initially, the Sethrak recently saw the end of a terrible and bloody Civil War. They just might need some help.
