Lightforged Shaman

Let Lightforged Draenei be shaman! My poor shaman sits on the council but has not been granted the rank of Master! It’s unheard of!

I’m guessing they can’t be shamans because they didn’t leave Argus and thus never encountered the orcs

Yeah but now they have reunited and draenei shaman can undertake the same trials to become Lightforged.

It’s less that and more the Argus shamans got twisted up, down, left, right, inside out, and sideways by the Burning Legion.
The Draenei didn’t learn shamanism from the Orcs, but from Nobundo, who learned it from the Elements.
AU Draenor Nobundo is still feeling the call of the Draenor Elements despite not being Broken.

Log way of me saying: You’re right, for the wrong reason.

Maybe something about being Lightforged deafens you to the Elements. But until they say so, then I agree.

All draenei, even shaman, can still use the Gift of the Naaru racial. So communing with both the Light and the Elements at once is possible.

Only if their totems can be actual disco balls.

True, but the Lightforged have that symbol on their heads at all times, to a greater extent to the point it glows all across their body.

It wouldn’t surprise me to find out they have that naaru ringing noise in their heads 100% of the time at ten volume levels above what a normal draenei would hear when they used Gift

totems should be little Vindicaars on a podium

That symbol is a matter of preference, it can be changed or even removed at the individual lightforged’s will.

Behold! The Lightforged Experience. Just put it on loop while you do other things!

Argus did not have any Elementals, they all died when the planet did and the Legion took over. The Lightforged have been fighting on Argus for, at minimum, decades. It would have been impossible for them to pick up Shamanism as a weapon against the Legion, and anything that wasn’t a weapon against the Legion was a waste of time.
It wouldn’t really make sense for a Lightforged to fight as a Paladin or Warrior or whatever for decades of their life and then just suddenly decided to study shamanism.

If there is any race that should be able to be Shaman it’s Humans. Humans are really good at study and figuring out weird magics, and the Kul Tirians even figured out Shamanism on their own by study. The Humans should have no problem learning to be Shamans when there are a bunch of Shaman trainers hanging out in their capital city. Humans are also known to have a lot of Spirit which is what you need to control Elementals, and have been known to pick up new disciplines just for the heck of it, where as most other races are locked into traditions.

What are we giving the highmountain tauren?

“Lightforged” is something any draenei can become when they complete their trials. Now that the Argus draenei have reunited with the rest of them, Draenei shaman should have that option too.

Unheard of for sure!

The Lightforged we play as are all ones that were fighting on Argus for the entire childhood and much of their adult life.

They already have all the class options their base race has. LF draenei do not.

Edit:
Wow, just checked, nevermind, I guess priests or paladins. no reason they should not have them, right?

that’s a pretty hardcore back story for a level 10 character…
25,000 years to reach level 10?

By culture, not study. The Kul Tiran shamans were pretty much the worst example you could of named for the “humanity’s supwerpower is studying” idea

Do stuff in Kul Tiras and take note of basically everything that Brother Pike and the Tide Sages do and you start to really pick up the shamanic vibes.
For example: Tide Sages bless Storm Silver and then bury it underwater for 20 years so the blessings really sinks in
Tide sages call upon “the waves” to bless boats to be protected and have safe voyages and all that.
Tide Sages are basically required on every Kul Tiran vessel to calm storms and ensure steady waters
And of course they lay the dead to rest.
