I saw that I need to get an achievement- ‘You are now prepared’ does that actually turn my character into a Lightforged when I reach it?
No, you get that achievement and then you have to do the recruitment quests. After that, lightforged will be unlocked and you’ll have to make a new character or buy a race change.

The nice thing is that the questline doesn’t take long once you can get there.

Do note that you won’t get the special Lightforged Draenei transmog set unless you make a new character and level it up yourself. Not sure what level you need now but it won’t take too long these days.
Just giving you a heads up because a race change won’t get it, but if you level a new one up from scratch it’ll then be unlocked for all Lightforged Draenei on your account

u can do changes on u char , if u pay dolars , u get change to lfd of regaler d , is cool , if u get coret class that can do a race swap to lfd
You will get the Heritage Armor at lvl 50 and for now you will be limited on their customization in the barbershop with the new patch (9.1.5) that problem will be solved soon so enjoy your new allied race have fun.
would be nice if Draenei get a free race change to Lightforged. Received after a regular draenei completed an exclusive Lightforging questline. Also receive the Heritage armor thereafter, another privelege
cannot be done to Blood Elves>Void elves because that would be faction change
