Lightforged Draenei does not want DK

As a faithful Lightforged Draenei, i feel ridiculus Death Knight could join my race. When me and my fellow Lightforged Draenei died, our soul and body went back to Naaru. Most of my people never step foot on Azeroth and would certainly not follow Azeroth rule.

Since when do you die to be forged. This smacks of headcanon.

You beat me to the “head canon” observation. Particularly the part about “soul and body went back to Naaru”. The ‘rule’ they speak of being about where the soul goes after death has nothing to do with which planet the dying person is on, or comes from…and it’s not a matter of the DK joining their race, but rather the Draenei joining the ranks of undead knights.

Made up facts, OP.

Although I find many of OP’s statements confusing, I will admit a Lightforged DK would be, uh, odd, to say the least. Lightforged Death sounds like the name of a metal band though, maybe people will take to the oddity?

I didn’t want to make one until I toddled into this thread… does that make me a bad Gnome?

To me, it seems like the ultimate edgy role-playing opportunity, for those that would be interested in playing the ‘fall from grace’ scenario.

You didn’t die to become Lightforged. My main is Draenei Death Knight. Join me, brother… the cold embrace is much better than the brutal ritual that is Lightforging

You don’t have a say in the matter it is Blizzards game they have the final word if you don’t want one then don’t make one problem solved.

Fur the Horde

I feel that this sentence is ridiculous.

… I don’t think you know how “race” works if you think someone joins a race. Race first, class next. So this would be your race joining the Death Knights. Otherwise, my Orc and Forsaken are ready to sign up to be a Lightforged Draenei.

Also, much like how the Night Elves would probably have their soul (not body, since when you die currently, you still corpse run) return to Elune, there is a magic that Bolvar has that will reanimate your corpse. Maybe there is a piece of you in there, but not what once was.

Suffer well.

I don’t personally think it makes a ton of sense to have LFD DKs, but I guess some people wanted them? :woman_shrugging:

I’d never make one personally.

Did they? DID THEY? People wanted Kul Tirans too and look at what they gave us. No mire races they clearly are out of ideas when “fat people” = race.

I don’t know, but they are being added so -someone- must have wanted them.

Like I said, I wouldn’t make em personally.

I think it’s more likely they decided to allow it for all races, rather than pick and choose from a few additional races, and then have an uproar from the masses later.

“The one race I wanted to play as DK isn’t an option! It’s a slap in the face!!!1!1!”

Theres not really a reason not to have them other than it doesnt really fit with the theme. Seems kinda silly to restrict the one race from getting DKs even LFD can be killed no reason they can’t be rezzed as DKs

I’ll add to this:

I also believe that some classes have the ability to be universally used among races regardless of their beliefs/abilities.

Warriors
Hunters

These two for sure are something that can logically be used by any race (despite having to wait so long on Gnomes).

I believe that the creation of Death Knights should also be universal because this class feels more of the magic given to the race by the Lich King than it does from their own ability/beliefs.

Eh, so in other words the someone wanting it was blizzard. To avoid the nonsense.

Still thematically doesn’t make sense to me.

Speak for your self. My holy crusade will continue through death itself!!

I don’t entirely disagree with you. Since it’s canon that all DKs are raised from fallen heroes, it follows that former mages and warlocks could be among their number…and some races (gnomes, vulperan and the like) seem just as unlikely.

Strictly speaking however, the lore states that any fallen hero can be made a Death Knight…so in all fairness, we can’t really restrict any of them, can we? It does raise an interesting possibility, though. I could easily envision a DK offshoot class…one based on caster types.

Necromancer, anyone?

Yes.

But that’s okay. You’re OUR secretly evil cookie monster priest.

Well in-game if you get killed as a LFD DK you will still explode and heal/damage those around you with holy light. Unless this is changed somehow to unholy when you become a DK this is a problem to me.

I mean if this is possible why not Worgen monks?
