Lightforged Draenei Death Knights

Said it in the title. These guys shouldn’t even technically exist, they are an anomaly and a disgrace to the lightforged race.

How is this even possible?

May the Naaru grant me strength.

Dead lightforged → death knight

They died, then were raised by the Lich King.

Being lightforge doesn’t make you immune to being raised by the Lich King.

Though future races might run into problems becoming a Death Knight since there’s no Lich King now.

But if they’re dead then shouldn’t they just be normal draenei death knights? Why would the light still be in them? And additionally, don’t they explode when they die or something?

Unless they do some WoD time travel stuff and we have to fight the Lich King during the Spider Wars.

That’s why Guzzle linked the article he did. In theory even as a DK if your faith in light during life was strong enough, you are still able to call on it.

Don’t you have to serve the Jailer or whatever if you want to be a deathknight but he is dead so why would you even have to be a death knight anymore ?

No reason at all at the moment. So likely there won’t be any new recruits.

I dunno, the Ebon Blade have been shown to basically get their hands on the corpses of heroes wherever they operate (up to and including attacking the Silver Hand during Legion to take Tyrion’s body). Given that Azeroth is only sending heroes into the Shadowlands the Ebon Blade are probably recruiting here and there.

Light is against Void Magic(due to being opposites) and Revendreth Death Magic(due to it belonging to the Nathrezim who tried to infiltrate the Light’s Realm).

Death Magic in general is not an enemy of the Light.

The Kyrian are made of Death Magic and aren’t harmed by the Light of the Ember Ward like the Venthyr are. Same goes for Maldraxxi Undead.

Needless to say any Lightforged Draenei turned into Death Knights would quickly find the Revendreth Death Magic painfully burned out of them leaving only Mawsworn Death Magic and Maldraxxi Death Magic inside them.

Speaking of which: The Mawsworn have Revendreth Death Magic mixed into their Mawsworn Death Magic due to the Nathrezim’s presence in Zovaal’s armies which explains why Mawsworn Charred Behemoths can be killed off from the shock of being hit by 3 beams of Light hitting them at once!

Corrupted Ashbringer.

lmao.

I think Blizz discarded death being the opposite of life, no?

Now is Void, so it’s not like a Lightforged cannot still call the light being a DK, has happened. I don’t think they are infused with the light when dead, but who knows.

ngl, having our 3rd or a 4th class spec determined by race would be kinda cool, even if it’d 100% lead to even more metagaming issues.

But it’d be cool if you rolled an LF Death Knight you lost accessed to Blood but then gained access to a Light themed DK tree.

Or let’s say you play a Night Elf mage, can no longer access the Arcane tree due to their cultural reservations…but gets access to a Nature themed tree instead.

Troll Shaman, no Enhance, but access to Shadow(finally a Shadowhunter!).

I know it’ll never happen, but still is a cool idea.

They’re Deathforged Draenei just without the actual title

The Opposite of The Light is the Void not death.( opposite of death is life, so death knight Dracthyr make no sense)

So void elf Paladins shouldn’t exist, Lightforged Draenei Death Knights existing makes sense in the lore… the only counter point is the Lightforged racial… if they explode on death to ash they shouldn’t be able be reanimated.

Drak’thyr Death Knight >.>

I’d say having all the Light explode from your body upon death should just make them Draenei DKs instead of LFD DKs… but maybe they used the same process as was used to raise Calia Menethil?

I think, as in most cases, the players are more concerned about lore than Blizzard ever is.

That’s how I feel it should be, but what we get feels more like a game mechanic and not something that would really exist. At least not in great numbers. It’s definitely not part of their culture and simply ammo to use against Blizz for not opening up more race/class options. If a LFD DK remains as zealous to the light as they were when alive you would think they would give the middle finger to the Ebon Blade and go on their merry way. It’s not as if the Ebon Blade hasn’t given us concern over their horrendous actions. lol
