They aren’t even confirmed as a race at all actually. Calia’s pretty one of a kind right now. The only source of speculation is from her coming back into the picture soon.

Source? Also, tbh … depending on how they approach them I would not be opposed. Blizz needs to make it VERY apparent that the Undead Split occurred down a line of identity; between those that still (even now) wish to return to their identities of who they were in life (and thus ARE Calia’s people) … and those that have more thoroughly adopted the Forsaken Identity (and no longer ARE Calia’s people). Any LIGHT based nonsense should be an additive to that identity core … certainly not the core of such a AR itself. There also HAS to be side-effects to being a Light Created Undead (it should not be portrayed as a cure-all for death).

Because Calia is Alliance, unless if they make her neutral in the future. Also Blizzard seems adament on giving the Alliance human like races 
. Excluding draenei, pandaren, and worgen.
Warcraft 2 undead were created by Orc Necrolytes, which are no longer even a thing in WoW.
The Light hasn’t abandoned Alonsus Faol, much less killed him.
Lore grows beyond the RTS games all the time.
All that said, I hope they are a Horde allied race. Just to make the Team Sylvanas neckbros foam at the mouth.

Try saying that three times fast. Lordaeron’s previous citizens (prior Scourge/Forsaken Occupancy) were citizens of the Alliance. Arthas changed that for the better.
