Life expectancy of the Forums

Other companies have done it. For example, Riot killed their LoL forums and went social media (Twitter etc) contact only.

Reckon Blizz will do the same?

I sure hope not. These forums a good surrogate for real social media, which is gross yet addictive.

Not really sure there’s a reason to. All things considered, it’s mostly mild here.

They won’t, no orbs.

to be honest, that would be a great step towards improving the quality of life of several people.

Some level 10 characters with over 30k posts do deserve to rest in peace.

As long as it gets a reasonable amount of traffic I think they’ll keep it around.

I won’t get the grace any of you with my presence as I am staunchly anti social media.

I know it would be painful… But somehow I think you’ll all manage to get along

don’t give them ideas.

Imagine not having to NOT moderate forums.

wym? blizz does that every day

They could cop out like other official game forums that relocated to Reddit

imagine losing a paycheck.

I would say yeah, but seeing as how they just updated the forum to plaster a stupid banner everywhere, i think it will remain as a sort of advertisement.

Lots of forums I have been using are gone these days, be it music, sports or gaming.

At one point, most of these forums started to become deserted, so that there was just a handfull of people talking.

I have to admit, I dont get the whole social media hype, I find it confusing to look up for some information, when all i see are videos, pictures and a few words.

Scrolling through hundreds of posts, without any way of interacting with the topic is dull. Worst is, that lots of companies stopped using their own website too, like FIFA and if you still get a nice article, its full with social media links.

I don’t think they’ll ever do that. They use this platform for feedback so… LoL is more of you get what you get no?

Feel like we can make even a slight impact on the game here compared to other game forums.

Maybe the hideous style changes they made today (with hovering bars you can awkwardly see behind as you scroll) were an intentional way to drive people off the forums so they could point at a drop in visits to justify removing them.

Stealth forum nerfs?

Surely Blizz wouldn’t stoop so l….wait nvm.

Is this in regard to the garbage redesign? No, I don’t think that was intentional sabotage. I think it was just something designed by a committee of marketers and not anyone with web design experience. You can tell by the emphasis on brand and products at the expense of user experience.

Do you really think the fuschia haired CMs at Blizzard want any part of their players on a site they have NO control over?

If they ever do destroy it, everyone will fully migrate over to the WoW Reddit instead. Or some other WoW forum, because several exist.

Whenever my sub is out, and I can’t post but still wanna see what’s going on in WoW, I’ll check there.
