Life bloom should heal more

That’s it. That’s the thread.

In TBC, with health pools around 12,000, life bloom healed for more than double the HPS it heals right now, with health pools around 45,000.

In other words, they’d need to increase life bloom healing by 800% to make it match up. Obviously, it doesn’t need to match up, because we have more tools now to heal people than we did in TBC.

But damn it’s depressing to see rejuvenation healing 330 HPS in TBC on 12,000 health pools and do the same healing in retail with 45,000 health pools, and then see life bloom do double the healing that it does on retail, like I said.

It does feel like the changes in 9.0.5 have made druids a bit more competitive, but it would be nice if they made life bloom a significant portion of our rotation and healing again. A way to fairly counter purge spam and move us back toward a “heal over time” based class would be enjoyable.

ontop of being able to maintain stacks of bloom on more than one target. I don’t play druid anymore but im pretty sure you can’t even do that currently, so what gives?

That being said i know jack all about balancing druid healing.

wasnt rdruid ridiculously broken in tbc tho

Yea, I started playing the game around the original S2 of TBC, and from what I remember rdruid was insane. In 2s it was like rogue/druid, war/druid, lock/druid, even hunter/druid.

Though I did play at a pretty low level back then, and had less understanding of the intricacies of pvp. Perhaps druid wasn’t as OP to good players that knew how to counter them? Idk, maybe some gladiator level players from back then can give their opinions.

Yea, it was. But I think his point was more that “when this ability was invented it healed for similar numbers to modern ones on healthpools 1/4 of what they currently are.”

which, I kind of agree with. Hots suck currently. Hybrids can top from 5% to 100% in 1 gcd through MS and wound poison, healers can too with their incremental short cds. but actual throughput for most classes, and this includes healers, is just garbage.

Idk if this is good or bad, I alt healers, and don’t know enough about which healing meta is most safe / fun.

That being said, I’ve been healing tbc recently and it’s way more engaging imo. (that heals heal and it’s not about having big healing cds.)

FWIW, Disc priests renew healed for about the same on TBC as it does on live (as holy)

Something else worth mentioning is that in TBC MS was a flat 50%. so. While the numbers appear slightly higher, that’s before MS is up. And a lot of healing tbc is learning not to heal into MS if you can avoid it. (or in other words, not burning your own mana)

I don’t remember TBC being so CD dependent. I feel like heals and dmg were just decent baseline and burst healing/dmg wasn’t as important as in today’s arena. Do you feel this is true?

It wasn’t. Mostly because cds kinda didn’t really exist, not like they do currently. the ones that did were utility or defensive. Think like pain suppression, or innervate, both of which could be dispelled? i think. So while cds existed and were impactful, it wasn’t the beginning and end of staying alive.

TBF druids did have NS, but its use was more flexible since you could spend it on clone or hibernate or w/e.

Absolutely. Dps classes also didn’t really have dps cds like we’re currently familiar with. I think, even, warriors, for example, didn’t have dps cds inside arena lol. Reck was too long of a cd and coudln’t be used in arena or something. I think it was just death wish.

Classes were just strong on their own, for the most part. And the gameplay (and rng lol) was what secured kills, not “warrior popped death wish and you had no trade”

idk i honestly hate when rdruid is good even tho i’ve played it more than any class probly. Like it’s really fun to play as, but terrible to play against.

My favorite (although it was still pretty broken) iteration of healer was bfa hpal but NOT s4 with ineffible, cuz u had powerful heals but you had to fake cast a lot. spamming instant cast heals is very zzz to play against

And they are so oppresive in 2’s oh look stuns me out of stealth into full clone nothing i can do, applies hots to his dps and repeat all game

same mine is 180 ilvl now

verdent infusion feels really nice overgrowth, cenarion ward, swiftmend thassa big healing

There’s a lot I miss from early arenas. But druids were really good back than and hots by druids were way too strong along with that spell that instantly healed a target that had Rejuv on it. Plus their mobility and what not.

I remember you had to have a class that could purge just to counter druids and even than it felt like a constant purge factory by that 1 player.

The other thing that made druids really good was that innervate was stronger, and they couldn’t be mana burned because they would just hot and change forms to escape/tank the damage.

5v5 (which I miss) seemed like most teams brought a druid to heal and a disc to mana burn and 3 dps (mage, melee, melee/ranged).

“wasn’t rdruid ridiculously broken in tbc tho”

I mean I mentioned that increasing it by 800% to match TBC wouldn’t make sense. But increasing it SOME seems like a no brainer.

i think they’re considered quite good now since the recent buffs throughput wise but idk if the verdict is out. mines too low gear to tell. Where the healing comes from is different from tbc

Like you could also say ret pally judgment doesn’t hit as hard as it did in tbc and zeal isn’t as good as seal of command but ret still does good dmg, just different sources.

Increasing lifebloom by 800% would be doing 2,460 healing per tick +mastery which would increase it. Also having no cd on it. If that were to happen u are pretty much asking to buff every other hot by 400-600% and then ur class would literally be the most broken as nothing would die because your hots would literally be ticking for about 5% of someones health per hot. With that being said ik rdru isn’t in a good spot but seriously those buffs you want are insanely absurd

Dont forget ms was also 50% reduced healing so the base healing was much higher to accomodate.

I remember disc in wotlk being able to 10-80% people with a single penance cast without ms on the target

I feel like HoTs and DoTs are essentially builders for specs iconic for using them.

It’s weird, you play these specs to have potent DoTs and HoTs because that would be fun and different right?

well Blizzard equates having them just be maintaining them to empower a Direct Damage/Direct Heal finisher as fun, shrug.

Just ends up feeling like a chore/checklist imo.

I have specifically, overtly, plainly stated increasing it by 800% wouldn’t be the move. Like… in the literal OP, as well as in the comments here. Not sure why you’re straw manning like that.

Did you read the post?

im stating what it would be like if that were to happen, and if it were to happen then all of the other hots would have to be buffed. I have read it but u also stated how u don’t want “SOME” buff. what were you saying by some? like a 10% buff or something?

wasnt paying attention with what i said, i meant to say at the end is that the buffs u said would be insanely absurd, not what you want.

I mean. It’s a nonsensical and pointless statement which I overtly pointed out would not be the move. Like you’re highlighting the ridiculousness of a move which I plainly said would not be the move.

The fact that it heals 800% more on TBC than live doesn’t feel right is my point. Should it be increased? Yes. By how much? I’m not really speculating. But it seems plain that it doesn’t heal enough right now. At all.
