As you know, over the years, Death Knights have gotten most of The Lich King’s spells and everytime a tier set comes out it USUALLY looks more and more like his armor. (20th set could’ve been so much better. Nighthold mythic still goes hard) Here’s what we are missing:
Infest (Aoe dot that deals more damage based on missing hp?)
Harvest Souls (Channeled stun that life steals?)
Ice Lock (Idk random hard cc)
Shadowtrap (No idea how this one would work either)
Quake (No idea how this would work, aoe knockback or something + slow?)
Pain and Suffering (No idea on this one either)
Necrotic Plague is already kind of in here so that barely counts
And of course, finally;
Fury of Frostmourne (Blizzard I will never forgive you for making us desecrate Frostmourne in Legion and didn’t give us some stupid massive AOE burst damage where we stab it in the ground 16 year old me would’ve passed out from excitement)
We already had this. It was called Hungering Cold.
Shadow Trap was a knockback based on the arena you were in that punished people for not paying attention, quake was again based on the arena.
Would have never gotten it. An AOE 1 shot? Thats a pipe dream.
No such thing happened. Frostmourne was done in Wrath, its been 15 years since it was shattered. Having some form of grudge for that long is 100% unhealthy and unwarranted.
Do you guys just sit around all day thinking about things to be outraged by and then not respond to what was being said and instead make some snarky post about the person?
Ice Lock was just Hungering Cold which has since been changed to Blinding Sleet.
Shadow Trap would just be a “get away from me” ability which goes against what you guys want out of a DK, quake would serve 0 purpose since it was getting rid of part of a platform.
Its best to just leave certain abilities being exclusive to the Lich King. We know you want to be him, but you arent.
The fact that this thread is actually “Lich King abilities I want but dont know what they would do” and not actually “LK abilities we are missing” since there are a whole lot of them that arent listed, kind of shows what this thread is actually about. Being outraged.
We dont have Drudge Ghouls, Shambling Horrors, Necrotic Plague, Infest, Shadow Trap, Pain and Suffering, Ice Sphere, Raging Spirits, Quake (wouldnt work), Val’kyr (and no, the gargoyle glyph doesnt count) and that is ignoring the Frostmourne 1 shots and the Frostmourne Phase.
Also changing the ability from what it is, means its no longer a LK ability except in name only. You either get the ability or you dont. The Lich King used Apocalypse, but its completely different than the Unholy DK ability. We dont actually have the LK Apocalypse ability even though we have an ability named Apocalypse.

This is the good stuff, keep chatting and discussing. Will we ever get all the LK abilities? Probably not. Doesn’t matter though, forums are for discussion. We are NOT the LK but we do get offshoots of his abilities. It’s nice to speculate.
Except this was just saying “we are missing these things” it wasnt “if you were to implement a Lich King ability how would you do it”. One brings a statement / request and the other fosters a discussion.
We havent even gotten most of the LK abilities. We have had access to 3, Remorseless Winter, Defile and Necrotic Plague. There are probably another 70% of abilities that we 100% wouldnt be getting and thats not including the Frostmourne exclusives.
Where in the original post was the speculation? Ive read it about 7 times now and im not seeing the speculation or the wanting of a discussion. Im seeing requests for abilities which he wouldnt know how to implement.
