So for those of you that haven’t had a good chance to play this raid yet, there is wayyyy too much trash in Liberation of Undermine. For almost every boss there is a sea of trash in between them. And I get it, having trash packs in a raid builds to the environment to an extent but there is a point where it gets problematic because guilds will just change their strategy plan. For example, my guild has decided that it’s better to just soulstone a healer and blitz to every boss and try to kill all the trash in one pull, but if that doesn’t happen we just get brezed at boss arena.
This results in the opposite of what the trash is meant to do being done. Now we’ll just skip all the environments because the time investment of trying to slowly kill trash and make our way to bosses is outweighed by the benefit of just running to the next boss in sub 3 minutes and either dying or aoe burning it all down.
This is not to say that Liberation of Undermine is a bad raid however, the fights are really cool. The gallagio is awesome and I love the aesthetics of the arena of the one armed bandit in particular, it is well designed in every aspect other than the trash. But the trash is still a major issue, compare the amount of trash in this raid to something like Nerubar Palace or Amirdrassil. I’d reckon the amount of trash that exists in Liberation of Undermine doubles those raids, if not triples, and it might even have more than even that if I’m being completely upfront.

There is too much trash but once everyone has gear and tier it will die much faster. But it definitely feels like you spend more time fighting trash than bosses. They could reduce the amount by 50% and there would still be too much

The thing is with trash is that even when we get more gear people will also get more lazier, they’ve recleared the trash 5+ times now. So now you have like 5 or more possibly wanting to afk. It just makes death skipping or pulling everything the most optimal strategy and that just really should not be a thing.

Alternatively they could make it so d.r.i.v.e. insta kills all the trash you run over. I would withdraw all my complaints about the drive system if they did this

You probably never raided in Naxxramas.
You wanna talk about trash…

The amount of trash is not a problem, you just don’t like it.

More trash in raids equates to more AFK players during trash in raids.
It’s a momentum killer for pugs, and a morale killer for guilds wiping on farm content.
Unless the trash is thematic to the specific area… It probably should be minimal.

No I consider it a design flaw 100% once it becomes more optimal to death skip than just clear it. I am sorry.

To be fair, the most optimal use of your time is to not play wow.

Trash seemed fine to me. In the three hours we were doing normal Tuesday night, we got all the way to Mugzee, which felt par the course for most modern raids. Didn’t feel like the trash was in the way of anything more than usual.

Trash in general is a problem. Have you done Priory of the Sacred Flame?
Agree. The four bosses I’ve done so far were fantastic, but having to navigate around and clear the excessive amount of trash, then having to kill even more trash because of the raid getting lost in the maze of the city, thus pulling in more trash, just killed the vibe and took way too much time out of the night.
A lot of the players were expressing their annoyance with the trash in raid chat.
Reduce the amount of trash or maybe allow drifting and turbo for the G-99 Breakneck as a way to eliminate the trash mobs in a fun way.
A lot of the trash is avoidable, you don’t need to clear the whole city, just one path to each boss. The thing that makes it different than say, Nerubar Palace is that there are minibosses, the trash does stuff and the layout uses the city instead of a straight linear path.
We might not be expecting 40-minute reclears by week two but full clears won’t be held up by trash like using several flight paths over and over.
The trash up to bandit is definitely on the ridiculous side. Feels like he should have been in the middle of it.
This is actually adding to the fun for me, running from pack to pack saving groups of people and watching them get hit by cars. Its great fun, but not for people who are going overly serious.

Ya’ll doing the wrong path if you have too much trash
I find we’re not doing much by planning path accordingly

Think we’re on boss 5 now…
Least amount of trash I’ve seen in raid.
There didn’t seem to be that much. At least I didnt feel like we had more than 5 or 6 packs between each boss. The only point where it seemed like a lot was the long hallway in the Gallagio.
All in all, it seemed similar to Nerubar Palace, but maybe slightly more.
This is NOT FUN.
Wasting time in the raid moving between bosses and wiping on trash is ridiculous.
