The happy lil dude just has a smile while lasers shoot out their eyes and blast them. “No” before happily going on with their way.

This is awesome and nobody should need to justify their existence. We should either enjoy someone’s existence and/or do what we can to make sure they can enjoy their existence. E.g., let them live their lives.
It reminds me of a story that gets me everything I think of it:
During college, (20 years ago) my anthropology professor told us a story of a friend she knew who loved to dance and wanted to study ballet at the San Francisco Ballet. He grew up in a rural town that didn’t take kindly to that kind of dance by a man so some of this boys “acquaintances,” in some warped effort to prevent him from what they say was emasculating himself, broke both his legs to prevent him from going.
The moral was to all of us studying anthropology “don’t view the world as right and good only through the lenses you’ve been using your whole life. Experience life, don’t tell it what to do. Don’t break someone’s legs to fit them into your world view.”
Thankfully, that man made a full recovery and did eventually go on to audition with SF Ballet.
(As a total sidebar, any dude that thinks ballet dancers are somehow emasculated…those dancers are some of most athletic, balanced and posses core strengths most humans can only dream of)
Its weird how people see ballet as not manly. Have yall SEEN pro ballet dancers? They’re small but packed with so much muscle. They gotta be dancing for a long time so they’re built for it. Its wicked impressive.
Or like how one of the dancers in Cats was actually pregnant while she was dancing. She didn’t have much of a bump but that’s still rad

I don’t think I mentioned it here, but I’m gunna because I just learned about this movie about a week ago and it’s quickly become one of my favorites. Nimona is such a BA movie. I wish it was available outside Netflix so more of my friends could watch it.
I’ve been telling some work colleagues and other family members about how good this show is and how important its message is. My daughter and I have watched it three times already!
The creator of that has given me like the first time I’ve seen someone making it big. Read the webcomic of Nimona as it was running, and then seeing the creator go on to Disney and then getting it made into an animation was awesome
It was cute. It was on youtube for a bit when it was up for an award. But I’m unsure if its still up.
It’s funny earlier today I was remembering someone from when I was growing up who was a ballerina and remembering a time when they tried to reach out to me, and it is one of the few memories I have of that time where I have regrets not for failing to stand up for myself, but for just failing to accept that this amazing person found me worthwhile.
