Yea its super broken again
I actually brought all that up because China recently changed the definition of human rights when it pertains to them. And again, we see people doing this a lot in the west, another thing i brought up.
Something i didnt say tho; is it also good to keep in mind communist and socialist regimes of history have ALL prececuted homosexualsâ. So i tend to look at trends from them to make sure i stay away from certain aspect of the ideologies hosted in those parts of the world. some of which try to even influence us over here in the west as i stated before.
You can say im larping and deny my identity, thats your prerogative. though, some might label that that as a phobia.
MUST we talk about politics? Itâs boring
Anyways, Howâs everybody doing this morning?
AS6 predictions? personally routing for trinity but i know that wont happen cause the girls r gunna vote her out because shes a threatâŠ
So I read through the 29 page document filed recently and while Iâm not at all surprised Iâm a little disappointed. Software and tech companies across the board are like this, itâs not unique, especially in software which is one of my majors.
Iâve got a few thoughts. Iâm going to share a couple.
If I was in Blizzardâs shoes (I never would because I wouldnât have allowed things to go that far) Iâd start taking steps to git gud.
One thing that the paperwork claimed was that there was low trust in HR. Itâs held in low regard and some of the abusive people are chummy with HR. HR basically wasnât doing their jobs.
I wouldâŠ
- Put everyone in HR on a 3-6 month leave pending investigation.
- Hire 1-3 external HR companies. One to take over for their HR department. The second audits all of the cases to make sure they were handled correctly. If a trend pops up that certain people in HR were constantly mishandling types of cases, they come in for an interview. If itâs a superior blocking them from acting, can the superior, else can them. In especially egregious cases, possibly can the offending employee in a report too. The third audits things like promotions vs performance reviews, pay rates, etc and makes corrections. Raises, backpay, etc.
- Rebuild HR with whatever is left and some new blood.
They need to revise some company policies. At very minimum these should be in effect if they arenât already, as they would have likely saved a life.
- No fraternization with direct superiors. Thatâs a gross power imbalance and not okay. Maybe if they were dating before and one got promoted, but in general thatâs a hard no. This is a minimum.
- When multiple employees are on a trip together, they get separate rooms. I donât care if it costs more money. Iâm sure Actiblizzard can afford it. It ensures everyone is safe and has a space of their own to hunker down in.
Thatâs all my brain can think of right now.
My deepest regards to the loved ones of the one we lost, due to what seems, toxic behavior within blizzard. To those still with us, however slighted you may feel by blizz and their policies, or people in general, know you are loved, and wanted. Live! Do not let them take your spirit. We are all glorious alâars! We are the phoenix rising! Donât let this world of moderation, and abuse bemuse you! The ashes that they leave us as rekindle into fire birds! We are luminescent and eternal! Shine on!
idk. I just wanted to say, something! Be strong heroes! It may be a long hard road but itâs worth every bump. Hang in there. Beauty be ahead.
The thing I find weirdest about all of this is Blizzâs response. Instead of like the standard corporate âweâre sorry and weâll do better going forwardâ they came out swinging saying the people suing them are lying and distorting facts. Either they believe they have rock solid evidence proving this is all wrong and can prove it in court, or theyâve got the worst PR team ever.
Ive just been seeing pieces on Twitter and wow. It is. A lot.
My heart goes out to the victims.
I read an article about that the other day and was curious to see if there were any discussions on the WoW forums. I never looked, but your post at least makes is clear there are those who know about it.
I was taken aback by their response. Iâm used to the âWe canât discuss thisâ response. I honestly hope they get raked over the coals for this.

Good song choice.
On a side note. I really like the name Argent and used it for a Warforged Paladin in a D&D campaign years ago. I had a lot of fun and some great RP with that character.
The part about businesses leaving California and how much disdain it has makes it clear how the person who wrote it leans politically. They should have had a professional write the response instead of letting it turn into something weâd see from a guest on a show that rhymes with ducker.
Oh another thing about HR I forgot to mention. Tuca and Bertie has something like this and I like how they handled it
A male employee implies Bertie wore a tight sweater in an attempt to persuade her boss for a promotion. So she tries to talk to the HR lady in her building. But instead this happens
Bertie: Hey, youâre the HR person, right?
HR Lady: Yeah. Whatâs with the hole?
( context. Part of Berties chest popped off in disgust at the harassment so it popped off and said she was going to get a drink. Itâs a cartoon so sometimes weird things happen )
Bertie: Thatâs actually what I came here to talk to youâ
Hr Lady: ( Chuckles ) You should cover that. Itâs not appropriate work attire.
Bertie: Uh, a coworker made a super gross comment about my body.
Hr Lady: Eesh. Who did that?
Bertie: UmâŠit was Dirk.
Hr Lady: Oh, heâs cute. Lucky you ( Her tone here is sheâs obviously attracted to Dirk. And theyâre seen dating later in the show )
Bertie: Looks obviously annoyed
Hr Lady: Well, he probably meant it as a compliment. Best to not spread this around. It could make our company look bad, soâŠ
Bertie: Could you maybe talk to him about proper office behavior?
Hr Lady: ( chuckles ) That sounds like an awkward convo!
Bertie: Isnât that your job?
Hr Lady: Hereâs a pamphlet
( The pamphlet looks very dated and says "How to flirt responsibly in the workplaceâŠand land the man of your dreams! )
Honestly unsure if I should unsub or not. On one hand I really enjoy wow and on the other side it feels kind of tainted to still play after something like this.
What the heck is going on? Itâs just bad news after bad news both in and out of game for me. I might have no where to live, thereâs been so much in game drama with people I meet, the lawsuit. Feeling really stressed and wanting to shut down
Give your brain some time to process all this.
And if I may elaborate some. Youâre really not a bad person if you continue to play.
I think thatâs one of the really heartbreaking bits out of a lot of accounts Iâve seen from this. These are people who still have pride in their work, who still enjoyed much of what they did while employed there. I hope they take this seriously and make concrete changes that might prevent this in the future. And to me it feels like a crime (in addition to the legal crimes) in a way that not only were these people abused at work, but thereâs a chance that the shared work that they took part in may be tainted by one expletiveâs abuse of those people.
Meh corruption is everywhere. Our government for example. That donât mean everyone is corrupt. Canât let some bad apples ruin everything. The art team for example does a great job in this game. Many good artists to support and Iâm sure there are other people who have no involvement.
They just need to get rid of the bad apples imo. There is good and bad with everyone/everything.
