I love intersectionality.

Not seen that one.

If it’s safe to ask, what does the middle mean

(if it’s not safe to ask, then just forget i asked :D)

Well we know that the rainbow flag is for LGBTQIA+.

The pink and blue is giving special inclusion to trans people, basically stating that yes trans people are part of the umbrella.

The fist is the BLM fist for solidarity.

The gradient in the fist likely represents including people of all skin colors.

It’s highly inclusive, much like the progress pride and progress pride bi+ flags.

The history of the raised fist dates back to at least the french revolution and was common enough that it was included in paintings from that era.

In 1912 it was a symbol of collective power with regards to trade unions and collective bargaining.

The symbol was popularized by the German communist party which was not the big scary red scare Russians that dogwhistles of “communism” point to in order to scare people who were propogandized during the red scare into siding with the whistle blowers. The gesture was also common among anti-fascists. The German communist party ran opposite the fascist world war two bad guys party by the way.

In the Spanish civil war it was also an anti-fascist salute. Remember, fascists are the bad guys.

The symbol/gesture became popular in Mexico in around 1950ish in art promoting revolutionary causes. This led to its popularity during the civil rights movement as a symbol of the black power movement which is where the symbol comes from in the BLM context.

This brief survey of history says that yes, German communists in pre-ww2 Germany used the symbol. BUT it also indicates that a lot of people over time have used it’s mostly for protest/power to the people/and anti-fascist ccontexts. I’d say a vast majority of its uses over the years are of that nature.

And you know who the anti-fascists are? The allied soldiers who stormed the shores of Normandy. Heroes.

Comparing it to the swastika is like comparing apples to oranges. It’s a false comparison. The fist has not been irredeemably corrupted by the systemic elimination of ethnic, religious, and sexuality/gender identity minorities.

At this point communism has lost its meaning in the US because a certain elephant party uses it to fear monger people propagandized by the red scare and the cold war. These days communist just means something that that party doesn’t like. Black power symbol? Communism. Critical race theory? Communism. Making sure people don’t die because they don’t have healthcare? Communism. It’s basically meaningless anymore.

Lol. Apparently as a transgender man on the forums I have some sort of power he has to speak truth to.

What should I do with my new found power?

You should raise the minimum wage.

Improve SSI and SSDI to not keep disabled people in extreme poverty.

Implement universal basic income.

Free healthcare for everyone like every other civilized county on the planet has.

Ranked choice voting.

Make the rich and the corporations pay their fair share.

Strip tax exemptions from churches.

Take God off our money.

Federalize education standards so that certain states can’t whitewash slavery anymore.

You know, common sense stuff.

Nah this doesn’t belong on the world of warcraft forums. It’s not about just me. It’s about common sense.

No. You’re obviously not educated about rules.

“I am, but that doesn’t really matter to you, does it?”
