Shiva Baby
Bo Burnham’s Inside
Everything Everywhere All At Once (People will say this isn’t a comedy but I will stand by it being comedy because of how self-aware and ludicrous it is)
Zola
Vengeance
If you want more mainstream, obviously:
Crazy Rich Asians
Plus One
Spree
I Care A Lot
Jojo Rabbit
And if you want TV shows:
Veep
Rick and Morty
Bojack Horseman
Only Murders in the Building
Our Flag Means Death
Barry
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Archer
If I could list every comedy thing I’ve watched in the last 5-10 years I’d be here all night. But anyways, there’s plenty of comedy to consume out there.
I’ve heard about everything on this list, and have seen or am watching some of them, but Jojo Rabbit? Really? That story was really dark man; hard to call it a straight comedy.
And man am I behind on Archer. I need to watch…like…everything since he went into a coma.
The thing is, this conversation did start about movies like Zoolander. Those listed above are all comedies yeah, but they are not like Zoolander. Hence, my original question remains unanswered.
Yeah, none of them have the zany stupidity of Zoolander, this is true.
Edit: Except Archer, but that’s a show, not a film.

I know the community is big on telling me what I have to do and say these days. I fail to see who you think put you in charge.

Yeah, I wasn’t really thinking about TV shows. But there are an abundance of those kinds of shows, and I’ve watched most of them on a loop. I actually finally saw the last episode of Archer recently. Very sad for me because I loved Jessica Walter, and especially loved her on Archer.
I also just fell off going to the movies or keeping up with them, used to all the time when I was younger.
When I was younger I’m aging

Well I don’t know what you have or haven’t seen. The point I was making was comedy is still insanely popular and those who act like it’s not because because people aren’t allowed to offend anyone (which isn’t necessarily true) haven’t been paying attention to the gold mine of comedy that has flourished over the last decade or so.
I mean, there is no such thing as straight comedy these days. But that has nothing to do with it being offensive. All comedies have some center of dramatic depth to them. Some hinge themselves on that more than others. Jojo Rabbit is still a comedy, though.
Whats the deal with this one anyway? i saw the box art cover on Walmart and it was full of googly eyes. I flipped over to the back side and they have kung fu fighters with straight up googly eyes tacked on their forehead.
I’m just confused can someone explain
I cannot explain it to you. It is an absolutely insane movie.
You should watch it.
They get caught and someone tries to rehabilitate them. Chaos ensues. There are some plot twists.
Raspy voice. I am batman.

It’s a multiverse movie.
I am not inclined to watch it because of Jaime Lee Curtis opening her fat mouth to trash talk Doctor Strange.
Why do you need to know? It’s not like YOU can date them anyway, them being fictional and all.
after the coma, Archer episodes got real weird…er… i cant say they were up to the Archer levels of those first few seasons, but that might just be me. i still say watch em, tho.
Resident Alien is one of my newer favorite shows, even tho its on season 3 i think?
i honestly cant think of any real good comedys from recent years… i dunno if im just blanking, or if they just havent tickled my fancy. but man do i miss the days of Austin Powers, Dumb and Dumber, Theres Something About Mary and the Scary Movie’s… the Wayans versions tho…

The “coma” seasons were a really interesting experiment. I enjoyed them in a more artistic sense, even if they weren’t always riotously funny.
If Alan Tudyk is in it, I’m there. Great show!

Resident Alien did look like it’d be a fun watch, but I just find Sara Tomko visually off putting. She hits uncanny valley vibes for some reason to me.
Member when WOW was about killing the opposite faction is a war and killing dragons too?
its a great watch. i mean its an alien who threatens and swears at children! its awesome!
So, it’s a show about just Roger from American Dad?
