If they had never fudged the language we wouldn’t really be having this conversation.
Or if they just stuck to what they said, no one would have cared that lfr had it.
This is one instance or possibly 1 of many where blizzard was just stupid

Some of the reasons I have seen for people not wanting to raid or join a guild is that they’re going through stuff such as chemotherapy, or there a 70 something year old Vietnam veteran with a heart condition and the stress of group play is too much for them outside of something like lfr, or that they have crippling social anxiety and are afraid to join a guild because they’re afraid that they won’t be able to find an environment that will work for them.
In these cases I have encouraged them to seek out or even start their own communities that suit them so that they can enjoy more than just solo play.
I also know that there are people who are concerned about sexual harassment or who might be minorities and might be bothered by the slurs or the bad behavior.
I keep this in mind when looking at the situation where people are upset.
Because sure, there are people who are just lazy and want to mindlessly do dailies and expect everything handed to them on a silver platter, but they’re also people who have legit reasons for doing things.
So in regards to pugging normal mode where the OP said it was friendly, I said…
There is nothing friendly about pugging, pugs are toxic.
You know, where people throw conniption fits and rage quit at the drop of a hat because they can’t handle progression and groups fall apart all the time and people get nasty and abusers and misbehave. That is if anybody can actually get in when people are demanding aotc for normal mode and other ridiculousness.
Unlike Mister ‘it’s never happened to me’ who immediately started minimizing my experiences as one or two bad experiences, I’ve been playing since vanilla and I’ve been raid leading since vanilla on and off. I’ve also gone through periods of time where I’ve done a lot of pugging, especially pug raiding and pugging in dungeons.
It’s not friendly.
I wonder why he hasn’t gotten aotc in any of the raids, maybe if it was friendlier he would have gotten those achievements.
Nobody at Blizzard bothering to proofread the achievement text was definitely an L-on-forehead moment for the ages.
That said, if the achievement said Normal all along, I think we’d be seeing just as many complaints. The Spell Book from Mage Tower was also a losing poll mount, remember…
No offense to those people but I think they have bigger things to worry about than some mount in a game that doesn’t matter.
I want them to have it too, but I don’t make the rules. so we have to come up with solutions or yell into the void which helps no one.
I don’t blame people for being upset at blizzard saying all difficulties and then changing their minds, that was pretty crappy.
Don’t really feel all that much sympathy for at least some portion of the whiners but I do feel sympathy for some.
I just don’t think telling everybody to pug is the right solution for the problem I think blizzard should buckle up and take the L. They can open up Photoshop, open up the slime cat texture, hit control u, move a slider, and give them a different color variant and everybody will be happy.

I think these people watch too many parody videos. There’s a guild out there for everyone, just need to go looking for it.

Oh, I know this. I run one. And I’ve definitely encouraged them to try and find these groups.
But the people saying this are people I see around a lot and are generally reputable regular posters not just random trolls.
If some of the people in my Guild can clear a normal anyone can.
I know I sound a little douchy, And maybe I am, But it’s true.
Compared to LFR

That’s fine and I’m sure there are epileptics, schizophrenics and people with suicidal ideation in the wow population as well. We should be as compassionate towards them as we can be but the idea that their population is so numerous that the game should be changed to suit them doesn’t make any sense to me. If someone has severe social anxiety, they should seek treatment, not ask that a social game change so they can get their slimecat mounts.

Can’t we look at how prevalent these conditions and situations are in the general population to realise that their population in wow would be a small fraction of the game? Yes, concessions and changes should be made to make the game more accessible to all but there’s no call for changing the core of the game for a tiny minority that has serious issues?
It’s far more likely that it’s the lazy and the mindless, as you put it, who are asking for changes to suit them and what’s worse, they’re using the disabled as a pretext for it.
It’s quite disgusting.
Well yeah. Have you met cats?
I’m not exaggerating, you’re a gaslighting troll. It’s common knowledge that pugging is toxic.
I’m going to blow your mind here, but LFR runs are are pug runs.

You telling me that there’s people with the time to rock up thousands of posts on these forums who instead of putting that time and effort into actually playing the game, use it to lobby for lowering the bar?
Perish the thought.
Yep that’s been this whole back and forth for me as well.
Normal is easier than LFR anyways. VS. LFR people just want a mount for AFKing.
I mean which is it?
I don’t want to join a raid guild because I hate the politics. I was once an officer in a raid guild and it’s why I quit WOW and stayed away for ten years. Playing solo for the last 3 years has been great. I do what I want when I want. I just won’t ever have any of the AOTC achievements or mounts. Which I don’t care about because I’m a druid and I use flight form 99% of the time.
LFR has no leadership and raiding is mainly made or broken by the raid leader’s ability.
LFR should be the training ground for new raid leaders and it’s not. LFR is a headless zergfest. insulting to what raiders love about raiding.
Normal is LFR without the random queue
