I never said to the contrary. I’m simply clearing up that not ALL loot is greyed out for us to roll on.
It’s not about being in a hurry it’s the method(s) needed just to get a transmog.
So I have to either:
-
wait around for several months to get LFR transmog (catalyst)
-
Make another character just to roll on the loot
-
Hope nobody ever rolls need AND win a transmog roll
Those are pitiful solutions. It’s not whining, PL didn’t encounter this problem. GL in LFR has made this a problem.
That’s not the reason; the real reason is not being able to roll Need on a piece if you already have that piece at the same or higher item level. Don’t conflate the ability to roll Need for every eligible piece without arbitrary restrictions as Personal Loot and the inability to roll Need because of arbitrary restrictions as Group Loot. These systems are not intrinsically tied to one another and the said restriction can easily be removed without taking Group Loot with it.
Perfectly said.
It’s not just tier though. There’s plenty of other transmog from the raid that people want.
Whining isn’t tactfully calling out flaws in a system.
Whining isn’t calling some solutions bad.

You do understand this is the whole argument FOR personal loot, right?
Seriously all that needs fixed is the horrible RNG system. No one’s demanding loot first day.
I don’t raid that often (even LFR) and I am curious - if I took an alt into LFR which had only just got the appropriate gear level to do the fight, and I rolled Need on an upgrade, and someone like the OP with much higher gear also rolled Need, would any preference in that roll go to my undergeared character? Or is it all just a free-for-all now?
It’s free for all, although that higher geared player couldn’t roll on a piece that’s the same name with a higher ilvl.
There are rules to what can be rolled on. If it’s a tier piece and they have that same tier piece only higher, they cannot roll. If it’s the same exact piece at a same ilevel, they cannot roll. It also goes by loot spec.
It’s also balls that you can’t get any of the stuff from prior LFRs.
Sure you can. Why couldn’t you?
From previous expansions.
Depending on the expanson, I’m pretty sure you can. I do LFR Nighthold here and there.
You can roll an alt specifically for LFR.
You can absolutely get appearances from previous expansion LFRs. The SL ones aren’t yet considered Legacy, so there’s no NPC for them. But I thought I heard about it coming in 10.1.5? I may be wrong.
And LFR wont take 6-8 weeks? We cant even kill sarkareth yet, chill dude. You can always wait until next xpac and solo it.
Dope, had no idea this was a thing. Thank you.
Any time! Enjoy!
But I thought that was the purpose of people doing LFR for transmogs - to get that lower level gear item with a different look?
However, I’m assuming if its non-tier and just a lower level then they can roll Need on it and then its just the luck of the roll?
