LFR should have a popup for tanks saying "you will need to tank swap"

It is weird to see how many off-tanks don’t taunt AT ALL, and there’s nothing in the game indicating that new tanks need to tank swap for certain mechanics aside from one tank dying due to an unhealable DoT or strike. Every time someone from the raid (usually the other tank) tells the other tank to taunt they are ignored, and the tank is usually silent through the entire raid.

LFR this tier is somehow much worse than LFR VoTI for some reason. 3/9 of the fights this tier in LFR are doable without any tank swapping (Amalmagation, Assault, Rashok w/ a big defensive up for the combo), but for the rest it just becomes annoying.

This gets really bad for Saraketh, where not tank swapping causes a raid wipe even in LFR due to the Blast effect.

how about just run normal, and this ceases to be an issue?

DBM go honk.

Definitely a no on this. Half the fun of tanking LFR is trying to see how many stacks of whatever you can take because the other guy won’t taunt.

How about you read the mechanic description.

that’s what all those super “elitist” raiders do!

Part of the issue with LFR is it tends to be so watered down, that the normal “2 stacks:” or what ever does not apply, some might be willing to taunt swap but we don’t know how much the other tank can handle/ But a good rule of thumb is if the current tank is getting whomped, taunt off, or if it is a deadly mechanic (Sark) pay attention to when the other tank has it.

This does not count the times we do taunt off only for the other tank to taunt right back, I can get some want to see how much they can take but dang, read and follow the mechanics, there might be a reason why I am taunting off of you.

got some bad news for ya, happens all the time in normal

Right, DBM makes tank swapping idiot-proof, but not everyone has it or BigWigs.

If there was an emote only for the off-tank saying something “Zskarn’s [Searing Claws] has dangerously accumulated on the tank! Use your taunt on the the boss and tank them so it can expire!”, it both teaches the tank the timing for the mechanic and provides a link to the Adventure Log where the tank can learn about why the swap is necessary.

Big wings goes meow

If people aren’t going to use an addon or pay attention to debuffs they won’t see an emote. :dracthyr_crylaugh:

Blizzard wants players on the wrong side of the learning curve to learn everything the hard way, to teach themselves to master basics they don’t understand. I’m sure the current in-game training philosophy will suddenly start producing different results sometime in the future.

Its lfr, do you seriously expect anyone to know what to do?

I don’t expect miracles, but would it kill people to at least crack open the dungeon journal and brush up on the basic mechanics?

Doesnt happen in lfr, its a loot pinata for minimal effort.

I have, when running a spec that has a tank spec, volunteered to swap to the tank spec to “give you a taunt” when the second tank doesn’t taunt and we’ve wiped in LFR. Swap specs, run back… Wait for DBM to call the taunt, then taunt and tank until the main guy deals with the debuff or the bleed and taunts back.

Sometimes the 2nd tank is completely oblivious to the fact that I’m there doing "tank stuff’. lol

Yes… I do.

and then the oens that make the R in LFR mean something besides get defensive when you call them out and waste time due to not at least reading up on the fight

Well haven’t you heard? having a basic idea of what a boss does makes you an elitist now.

This person just wants to see the world (of warcraft) burn.

But is it really that difficult for the tanks to communicate… oh wait, this is LFR. So the answer is yes.

On one hand, it would make it easier for LFR groups if Blizzard made an indication when a tank swap is needed. On the other hand… Nope, can’t really see a downside aside from making it less fun for the chaos lovers out there.

I would tend to agree that lfr could do a better job of making mechanics lethal and understandable especially for tanks, but as a raider of low expectations myself I understand exactly why lfr is built the way it is in current wow. People don’t always rise to the challenge and the primary goal of lfr is to leave lfr the second the boss dies.
