LFR needs some sort of pre-requisite to join

I’m going to say this, no one joins group content and goes “Guys, it’s my first time here and playing Demo” and expects other players to give them the run down of how to play their class. And nor should anyone be expected to join a random queue and have to put up with players who do not know how to even do the basics enough to participate.

So if I say a new tank who has never tanked or even been inside that instance should not be allowed to tank, why is it some of you defend them saying “They need to learn to tank somewhere”?

Fact is, no one joining LFD/LFR should be expected to teach others how to play the game, maybe give some advice on specific mechanics or how a certain spell works. But should never be expected to sit down and spend 5-10 minutes of up to 23 other players time to teach someone enough of the basics of the game.

Enough of the ‘It’s only LFR’ mentality, I’m seeing players act that way in LFR and it’s causing wipes, especially when the tank has the ‘It’s only LFR’ attitude and is being constantly asked to do basics, like press taunt when it’s needed.

I’ll also say this, I ran a raid the other week on Sark, during S3 when you would expect people to not have to know anything, at this point just running around in ED you will out gear that place, but had a wipe.

Players argued “I should be telling the other tank what to do”, to which someone else replied “They did tell them what to do”, they didn’t listen, they didn’t care, they didn’t look at my raid warnings, they just done everything completely wrong after we told them what to do and caused wipes to happen.

what lfr you have been doing most of the time new tanks are being helped in lfr after a wipe

same could been said about the healers

True, but I would not expect the general LFR crowd to know if it’s a healer problem unless it’s something like Tindral and Fyrakk where dispels are a thing. In some instances a learning healer who has healed in dungeons before will struggle in raid, it’s a whole new ball game.

With tanks you can 100% tell if the tank is being a joker.

You know all the mechanics and stuff, why don’t you just tank it yourself and eliminate all those jokers?

Make them finish AT LEAST silver in the proving grounds.

Because LFR, with Determination stacks, makes it nearly infallible. Making it the perfect place to learn to tank it.

Unless you expect everyone to have to pass Normal raid on the PTR as a pre-req to get into LFR?

Okay for the most part in LFR if you are a Tank or any spec for that matter if you are running DBM add on, a blind person can do it without any prior experience at all in the game.

What type of pre-requisite we talkin here?

Raid Finder is for casual players.

At the same time, I don’t want the boss to just fall over as soon as I get in there (which they pretty much already do). I havn’t had any problems personally doing raid finder lately (only 1 wipe on fyrakk due to to many deaths, not a tank problem). Other than that it’s been smooth sailing

Sometimes I will, even when I am undergeared but know I can survive I will tank it alone. But on fights like Volcross where you NEED 2 tanks, yeh you just can’t.

Not always. There is an option in both DBM and BigWigs that will trick the other addon in to thinking you are using the other addon for when raid leaders are like “You have to use BigWigs and the profile I sent you”.

Because many times I will use /RW and tell the other tank what to do, but they still refuse to listen, and not something hard, I will have a ‘/RW TAUNT’ as a macro and even just that I see some tanks not following.

Op,are you in a hurry? Well,go to normal and heroic . This is a place to learn to tank raids ,and yes ,it’s going to take time as a new tank,gg

Blizzard’s fault for giving people LFR ready gear.

lol, well okay they do have to read the words or listen to a voice saying taunt.

reminds me the days of wrath with the normal helping players Lk run friendly but must have the hard Lk kill achievement posted

At risk of sounding elitist, I am just going to put this out there.

LFR and M0 Dungeons are exactly where people need to go to learn.

They are extremely easy and forgiving as far as difficulty goes. The loot they drop is trivial and rapidly replaced.

No. You are the problem in this case. You want people to know what they are doing? Start going into heroic raiding and +15-20 keys. Find a group to raid with.

You cannot have a superior and frankly bad attitude when running LFR and M0. You know what the skill level of players is, in LFR. And you que for it, then complain about it? That is volunteering to work in a soup kitchen, then complaining that you have to serve food to people.

And to reiterate. It is LFR. Stop complaining about it.

Are you really having that much trouble with LFR? In my experience, a couple wipes tops will happen, but usually 0. Is that really a big deal?

Something like this.

And there it is ladies and gentlemen, the one dude who is defending the tanks.

Why only defend tanks? Why not defend the new DPS who have never played a specific spec before and need help? Why not defend the healers and say “It’s OK if our healers don’t know how to heal and we wipe 48 times, they just need some guidance”.

Why is it some of you only defend the tanks?

Fact is, not a single person should be doing an instance AND tanking, healing or playing a new spec for the first time at the same time, no one, and you guys need to stop defending them.

None of us, not a single person in the game should be expected to join group content that is not premade and be expected to have to sit down and discuss a class, role or spec with a player who has never done it before.

Earlier I done one run where I was the only rogue in the entire LFR, what if I did not know how to play and was asking questions about what to do, but there are no other rogues. What if every other person in the instance has never played rogue, how are they supposed to help me? That’s not OK, so why defend tanks for, they have just as much tools at their disposal to play tank for the first time not in group content just like all DPS and healers do.

I was in a raid in LFR and it was the first week Larodar was out. The fight has a mechanic where dps have to kill some roots and healers have to then heal the roots to create a shield to survive the bosses aoe attack. We wiped once to the aoe nobody said anything. We wiped again for the 2nd time then some guy starts berating the healers really badly calling them names saying they were bad because they didn’t heal the roots. Now then this was the first week the fight is out people didn’t know what to do and it was most peoples first time doing the fight.

We need less toxic people in LFR. We beat the fight the 3rd time because people were made aware of that mechanic at that point even though it was a really toxic guy in the raid. Instead of explaining why we wiped on the first wipe they have to be really toxic about it the 2nd time we wipe.

Then don’t join LFR.

That’s kind of the point of the LFR system…

You have to learn somewhere.
