I agree. While LFR is a good introduction to raiding with only the core mechanics left in each fight…this iteration is overly complex for the LFR community
I like to do LFR for the mog recolors, but trying to do the 3rd wing is horrible
“Don’t stand in bad things.”
“If boss does X to you, run away from people.”
“If boss does Y to you, have people gather to soak the hit.”
“Point a boss this way, take a boss to that spot, etc…”
“Kill adds.” (forgot this one).
LFR mechanics this expac are fine, some need some thinking and coordination, that’s not a big thing to ask of the playerbase.
And if not sure if adds are up (in case you missed the army of them kel thuzad puts out) install dbm. When it says switch targets…it means adds are up. Kill them.
LFR people, such as myselrf, are those who for varying reasons do not wish to enter into the grind of searching for premade groups. Just because we want a simple automatic queue doesn’t mean we want braindead tank-and-spank encounters.
By far my most fun LFR experience was Lei Shen back in MoP. 25 people had to organize into 5 5-man groups and perform the tasks properly. That is not asking too much.
lfr rewards in mop were much better, it was actually a very productive endgame pursuit with tier sets and incredible legendaries with some of the best cosmetics
lfr in systemlands is worse than quest gear
I want lfr to give loot equal to what people are getting for zero effort or skill or coordination, actually a bit higher than what those people are getting
and the more difficult they make LFR mechanics, the rewards need to go up or they need to nerf the mechanics to match the incredibly low value of the rewards
True. His catch is people eating the balls of light though. Not a hard catch to miss. I guess this confuses the kyrians? lol. That can have you go blue balls of light are good.
Well, I haven’t found a LFR group that can complete wing 3 of the new raid without falling apart…even with multiple players that out gear it to help.
There has to be a level of compromise between what you think LFR should be and the reality of the situation
Seriously. There’s such a disconnect between the people who say “I want hard LFR” and how LFR turns if there’s even a small amount of difficulty.
EVERY SINGLE TIME LFR IS HARD PEOPLE FREAK OUT ABOUT THE DIFFICULTY. SAME WITH LFG. THIS IS A PROVEN PATTERN.
The people who want “hard LFR” actually want to join a premade group, but had one negative experience with a premade group so they think Blizzard needs to get involved and put together a premade group on their behalf for progression content. It’s actually insane. These people just need to get over their self-imposed barriers and just play the content. Just join a group / make some friends. I assure anyone who wants to do normal raid content there are laid-back guilds out there that allow people to drop-in and drop-out.
LFR should be basically tank & spank tourist mode to complete the story for people who have no real interest in raiding. I’d be fine if it didn’t even drop gear aside from cosmetic items.
When LFR is bad, is when it becomes part of the progression. That’s because you get players with different goals mixed together and it isn’t fun for either group.
Thing is except for painsmith…nothing is overly hard here. I will admit I hate the spike floor dance dance revolution setup. I follow the nice player with a symbol over their head and hope they know what they are doing. Follow them, live. Usually.
Okay…Fate scribe rune mechanic gets up there on rankings. Seen that a few times and not sure how it works 100% tbh.
Most are basics. Kill adds. KT is tedious. Add party is his thing.
Wing 1 boss 3 is common sense. They are pushing away…probably not a good thing. Maybe I want to fight that and run back in. I didn’t need google to tell me that.
Now they are pulling you in. Again common sense should be going this is not a good thing. so you backpedal out.
