I think it’d be a good idea to add in an Elo system for LFR. Due to the nature of LFR this system would not be used to group similar Elo players together, instead it would be used to create an LFR group with a range of skill. Additionally, due to the large group size in LFR rating would be determined by a mix of DPS and successfully doing mechanics rather than wipe count.
My guy its LFR though.
The rating is already like lower than average elo is why I do it.
What in the world is elo?
you don’t need any skill in lfr. Half of your raid can be afk and boss still dies
ELO is a sort of rating system that some games have that tries to rate the overall skill level of players; comparable systems in WoW would be m+ or RBG rating.
Why you’d want this for LFR of all things is beyond me since it’s intended to be the most basic level of raiding possible.
Nah, LFR doesn’t need ELO, something simpler.
It needs to take everyone’s loot rolls, and multiply them by that person’s activity time percentage.
It’s the rating system used in chess. Requires competition though. You start with a set amount and gain or lose points based on the outcome and the rating of your opponent. So if you play someone with a much better rating you could gain a lot or lose a little.
Doesn’t really apply to situations like this, not sure how or what it’s supposed to help. LFR is LFR. If half the raid knows how to equip their armor it’s a win.
LFR is designed for noobs, if you want to play with better players, do harder content.
This is how drama is created. I do understand the desire to match a range of skills together, but that guarantees the better players WILL carry the raid. The lower end of ELO will be people who are mathematically a hindrance to the raid, requiring the better players to pick up that slack in order to succeed.
I really wish this mindset would stop getting repeated. Most bosses in LFR can’t be mindlessly zerged down, especially later in the raid. It’s easy to take for granted the people who have killed the bosses on higher difficulties that are going to do mechanics correctly out of habit which will allow the raid to succeed. But if you have a clueless tank on Rashok, you will not kill it.
Yes half your raid can be AFK and you can kill it, but only if the other half are doing the mechanics for most fights.
So the queue time can increase 10fold? No thx.
