No, it doesn’t. It was not needed in Vanilla, TBC, WoTLK or even Cata. Bring it back MoP where people will use it for legendary. There is nothing stopping people from doing the raid content currently except for their own excuses. If individuals genuinely desire to accomplish something, they will find a way to do something. People make time for activities such as watching movies, television, or other hobbies every night.

His lack of self control is no reason to remove options for all the other players.
Also, he can just keep buying gear in GDKPs. Which he has no problem with, yet LFR “diminishes the sense of gear progression”.
