This effectively nullifies any need for LFR in Cata. Why would Blizzard add LFR if the gear is going to be obtainable through another means?
Have you not noticed how much Blizzard has prioritized Cata Classic? Do you really think that since they are adding LFR gear through an alternative route, the last three developers running on their hamster wheels will work even harder to fix something that does not need to be added to the game until Mists of Pandaria? That is very doubtful.
I can certainly see that happening, or they will add LFR gear to the new inferno dungeons and have Firelands gear available from the vendor, or vice versa.
