LFG/Raid Finder Tool Is Needed

The general consensus is that the current LFG tool is horrible. GIVE US THE ORIGINAL RAID FINDER/LFG TOOL like we have on “retail”. It works great and you already have it. Take five minutes during one of your million maintenance cycles…“plug” it in and turn it on. WE WANT THE ORIGINAL LFG/RAID FINDER, there’s NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE ON CLASSIC REALMS TO GET GROUPS. THIS TOOL WOULD MAKE IT SO MUCH EASIER AND BEST OF ALL IT’S FREE BECAUSE YOU ALREADY USE IT ON “THE LIVE REALMS”. I spent over three hours trying to find a group for a “basic/normal” dungeon. This is ridiculous and would never have happened on the “retail” realms because of a TRULY WORKING LFG/RAID FINDER tool. Thank you for your “reconsideration” on this topic.

I do not agree with your “general consensus”.

I agree it is just terrible. At least before we could see if a dps wanted in on our heroic runs. Now we have to list to use the channel. Ummm no ty, we will just 4 man it.

They should just allow everyone to use LFG chat without dealing with the LFG tool. There is no reason to add the Raid/Dungeon Finder to classic.

You can still listen to the LFG channel, you just cant type in it.

Yep but we will continue to ignore. We even made a macro for the /w we get asking if we can tank. It’s great,“Please contact Blizzard Customer Support, due to no RDF we no longer provide services”

Raid Finder wasn’t introduced until Cataclysm, to a resounding Meh, and most people disliking it.

If you’re talking about the RDF tool, which was added in Wrath, and are just getting terminology mixed up, then I agree. RDF should be in the game.

If we can get cross server battlegrounds early to appease the PvP crowd and make their lives easier, I don’t see why RDF is any different. (It’s not, despite people trying to claim it is)

But I really do not agree with Raid Finder being in wrath.

Why is Raid Finder bad but Dungeon Finder good?

It’s the same system. (This is a general statement, I don’t think Raid Finder should be in wrath or cata).

I didn’t say it was bad? It just wasn’t in Wrath.

Alot of people dislike it because they felt they had to run it and it was boring when it dropped tier peices, and people deride it to this day because people don’t enjoy the idea that casual players get to do anything.

I personally do not dislike LFR.

Random Dungeon Finder and Raid Finder have two very different reasons behind why they were added.

  • Random Dungeon Finder improves the old content revisitation issues.

  • Raid Finder helps with access to current raid content by lowering the bar for entry.

Don’t lump those two together.

Well lets assume we are max level and looking for heroics.

Why is RDF to find a Heroic group good
Why is LFR to find a raid wing bad

They are both matchmaking systems so people can see content without having a static group of players to play with.

Dungeons are casual basic content that should be accessible to anyone, because they are not meant to be end game content, they are meant to be something you farm and a steping stone of introduction to max level content (Or just group content in general while leveling).

Dungeons are 100% something no one should be denied access to, because it’s basically the tutorial for group content.

People dislike LFR because they think it dumbs down the raid mechanics too much, and makes things brain dead for content that is closer to end game content and should require coordination.

I don’t personally agree with such, I think having an easy story mode effectively so people can see the raid bosses and raids themselves are a positive thing. Others disagree, and want to gatekeep.

I don’t agree with people’s reasoning as to why LFR is bad, but having argued with them over the years over the topic, I’m aware of their talking points.

I never said anything about GOOD/BAD but I’ll bite anyway.

  1. More people in the pool for grouping is always better. Unless you prefer mega servers.
  2. Old content gets more revisits.
  3. Undesirable content gets visits.
  4. People that would drop out once they have their objectives met don’t drop out.
  5. ???
  6. Profit.

Bad? Devs found that a large portion of the players base didn’t raid. The devs wanted people to experience their work. Easier accessibility with lowered quality of rewards.

The bad would come in the form of not low enough quality. Too low and the /RDF list off issues come into play.

You… you realize they did give us the original looking for group tool right?
