the only thing i had heard about it was that they were considering using a more modern interface. i would be fine with it if they completely removed it, i just don’t think it’s super game breaking if they keep it.
that’s the dungeon finder, not group finder
It’s important to note that there’s a DIFFERENCE between an LFG Listing, that Lists groups looking to be filled, and LFD that searches for a Group, for you and auto-teleports you there.
I created a thread asking for an LFG Listing, and it turns out, it was already a feature in BC. Again, a LISTING NOT an LFD Tool that auto searches, auto fills and auto teleports you:

That video is exactly where they talk about including the modern group finder (NOT dungeon finder)
Interesting…thanks for posting…seems like it’s undecided at this point.
Here is the link I was speaking of…go to the 33:00 min mark where Brian says that the team felt going after the classic & TBC group finder not worth the effort…
*Dungeon Finder
NOT Group Finder!
EDIT: Semantics. IK he’s talking about LFD and NOT the LFG Listing.
Well in that case, I will probably be levelling a paladin and charging an exorbitant amount to tank dungeons. Not sure if I will charge an hourly rate or a dungeon clear rate, let the market decide.
Endorsed by blizzard social friction is a part of the game by design.
I used it daily to fill out groups for the daily dungeons quests. It is similar to how custom groups work on live for LFG not LFD auto-queue.
Also - Authentic character is having every raider be a leatherworker for drums. You are not keeping that authentic blizz… you are remastering when and where you feel like it.
Maybe…he specifically references the old LFG system from Vanilla, and the LFG system from TBC and notes that the Classic dev team didn’t feel like reproducing those was worth the effort.
“…the Burning Crusade version of that (LFG) and the Classic version of that wasn’t really worth trying to chase…”
After watching the other video posted above, it seems that the WOW dev team felt both of those tools were not fully utilized. I don’t know…I used the heck out of the TBC LFG system and preferred it over spamming and whispering random people from a /who list
it’ll be massively used in either form (the old ui or the new ui) now, it’s a different era and the server wide LFG channel is gone in TBC, people do not want to be stuck somewhere spamming for a group lol.
If Blizzard doesn’t want to include LFG in the reboot of TBC…fine. I just hope they don’t lock out mods from being able to do it. Mods are not my first choice…since the only people showing up in the available listing will be dependent on everyone using the same mod…but it’s better than local / global chat spamming.
