LFG systems in classic suck

I dont care what anyone thinks I would much rather have group finder in classic. Typing what your looking for over and over for 45 mins just to have people ignore it is just inefficient and annoying. Iv read as to why this will not be however I find the experience of having to do it this way exsauting and unappealing. I would much rather just let the game match me. You can socialize to your hearts content with the group the game finds for you…

I agree with you completely. LFG is sorely needed. In another thread, someone else put me on to an addon called Puggle that you may want to check it . It nowhere near replaces LFG, and has some flaws, but it goes a long way to filter out the spam that is the LFG channel right now.

It’s a nice stop-gap measure until we can get a real LFG tool. Or, if the nochanges folks just can’t handle it, Blizzard should undo the change they made at the start of Classic and let addon authors do their work to provide a more comprehensive solution.

No, I don’t think they will.

Amazing that instead of just accepting Classic for what it is, people keep pushing for it to be something it isn’t.

I think eventually you can have a nice classic with group finder, dual spec and then something to level out pvp queues (Arena?)

I don’t care one way or another, but I always found the ‘but the social aspect!’ thing to be comical. When people are looking for groups, they aren’t looking for conversation; they’re looking for a group. And since it wouldn’t be cross realm, you can still make friends you’ve ended up grouping with.

What most people don’t understand. The LFG system worked back in vanilla when the game first launched. That was in the past. That system does not work today. We are grown and busy in life and no time to be sitting for ages looking for a group. Times have changed. Then again Timmy still lives with his mom and has all the time in the world to sit in LFG.

I’ve actually gotten bored of classic ages ago and stopped playing because dungeons did not happen and I was looking forward to them.

Lfg killed nostalgic WoW, and we killed it further as our expectations for convenience have grown over the last 15 years.

I like being able to pick and choose who is in my group, but then again I tank dungeons. For someone who is a dps and is often looking for a tank or healer, I can see why they would want a dungeon finder.

Imagine not running dungeons with your guild

they got lfg in retail bro. this is classic. yeah a browseable menu showing all the groups available would be nice but then by next week you would have heirlooms, lfr, heroic and mythic mode, and layering turned on permanently. its best to just take it or leave it.

They tried to stop it from existing with the “Wall of No”. When they failed, plan 2 was to change it into something they would want. And “No changes” kicked their butts there too.

Now they are just… Angry.

I’ll never forget the thread announcing that Blizzard would be killing any mods that automated group finder mechanics; leaving many mods that were under development stillborn… The rage from the retailers in that thread… dear god

Seriously. I’ve grouped for dungeons with members of <Haunt> on Mankrik before. It’s not like they don’t have guildies doing dungeons at a variety of levels.

First, you don’t have to retype it each time. Learn the keyboard shortcut to repeat the same text again. (I wanna say Alt + , but I’m not logged in right now.) Or alt-tab and use clipboard copy and paste from a text editor. Simply lazy.

Second, it’s a joke how often I’ll see one person type that they’re looking for a group for a dungeon and less than a minute later, another person will ask if there are any groups for that dungeon. Sometimes even as bad as the first is looking for a healer and the second is a healer looking. Don’t just type what you want and expect others to do the work.

Third, you’re level 60 and a warrior. If people are actually ignoring you specifically when you’re looking for a group on a full/high pop realm that manages to bring Org to the breaking point regularly … the problem is not the lack of a Group Finder.

Mankrik-Horde is my main realm, and I see plenty of BRD, DM, ST, LBRS, and more in the LFG channel all the time. (My highest just dinged 57 a couple days ago, so most aren’t something I’m doing.)

And I’d almost posted this when I realized OP’s name looked familiar, and I might not be remembering the guild name for positive reasons. Turns out he, and a guildie, are on my ignore list with a note related to grouping with them in Uldaman, and very poor behavior. If that’s how you’ve behaved multiple times on the way to 60, no Group Finder is going to improve your luck with LFG.

Reputations matter in WOW Classic.

And I love it. 10-15 years ago was different, but so was everything.

I love classic, and the more I play, the more I appreciate Classic and Retail for what they are, if that sounds weird.

So there’s Vanilla, Classic and now Nostalgic WoW? Wow.

addons can do the autotype for you.

you just tell them what to say, where and how often.

you shouldn’t be doing it manually.

And metaphysical WoW. And paranormal WoW. And then lil Bow-Wow

I don’t understand why living with their mom is considered a bad thing.

I work full time and live with my mom and will continue to do so. If you come to my country, you will find almost everyone living with their parents.

Also @OP you ain’t getting LFD. If you want it, BFA is waiting for you.

I think Classic could benefit from a proper match maker for looking for groups but then the Vanilla content would be blasted through in a matter of weeks instead of months as you’re forced to coordinate with what you can muster local server side.

Some people enjoy that but opportunities should be given to players who can’t make local server side commits due to circumstances that limit their playtime. Otherwise they’ll just gravitate to retail where they can play more conveniently.
