LFG System has 0 social benefits

I’m sorry but there is nothing more social about this lfg system than Dungeon finder, I literally just look for dps and click invite we do the dungeon, its the exact same process but worse, half the people in the lfg system are boosters or doing guild advertisements, This is a bit silly for more social interaction when there is 0 interaction gained from this system, even picking people out from LFG channel has very little interaction. /4 NEED DPS BLOOD FURNACE.(DPS) Says invite. You invite. Wow so much social interaction. Lol this game is falling apart because blizzard listens to people who barely play or know very little about the game. Hopefully it gets changed, Doubtful tho.

The difference between the LFG took and premade finder is you’re making a choice in inviting people.

Because if that, and there’s the slight chance you end up running multiple dungeons together and potentially meeting a new friend or guild.

Yes, that chance is small, but it does happen frequently and is vital to the social aspect of this game.

The guild I joined in class was because I randomly talked to this mage who was farming trolls in darkshore and we got along.

So the social thing happened outside of a dungeon.

I’m just kidding, LFG is okay. I got my first dungeon group using it. I’m on a low pop server. I think the LFG chat was more helpful still in filling the group than the listing was.

I Wouldn’t mind re-evaluating RDF after a year.

LFG has more social features than RDF would.

It gets players talking to each other about how much they hate it. That’s some social interaction.

Weird how there is literally a thread about how it is good on the front page. Also weird everyone is still playing in record numbers and there isn’t RDF.

Almost like RDF wasn’t a big deal.

The new LFD tool/chat is proof the new play nice agreement means nothing.

ha yes so let’s make the experience worse for a slight chance to meet a random player that you wont talk with after a week. If you want meaningful interaction you do it in a guild for raiding and in pvp not for leveling a character to max level where there is a higher chance for the other player to just quit.
Now for the second argument I see a lot is that RDF promotes spam quing in cities and make the world barren which is false. RDF enables the opportunity to go questing and gather resources instead of looking at the chat and the lfg tool and spamming in the chat in front of the dungeon. So instead of spamming in cities you spam in front of a dungeon. If the problem is the instant teleportation then just get rid of it but to totally delete the tool is just madness

You keep saying it’s worse when the amount of players playing proves you wrong. The data says you are wrong.

Just because people are using something doesn’t mean its good or functional. You literally can’t talk in LFG without using it. Half the people don’t set their roles right so you get mages, priests, and hunters listed as tanks and dks listed as heals.

You get a ton of people queing for stuff they have 0 intention of doing just for the sake of being able to talk in LFG to spam nonsense and guild recruitment messages.

Not to mention the whole “Player XYZ has requested to join your party.” window being entirely useless. It gives no information about the person requesting an invite other than a name. So you go through this weird whispering phase asking information about the person, just to find out they didn’t bother to read what your group needed and are not a role your group needs, so you decline them and get another person doing the same thing.

All things that were brought up in BETA / PTR and the feedback was ignored.

They’re playing because they have no choice but to play their favorite expansion around a massive failure in a group tool.

So you’ve completely misunderstood the intention of the tool and don’t bother talking to anyone you’ve invited.

Got it. You’re still not getting RDF.

Learn to socialize and stop blaming the tool you are misusing.

The social interaction that happens during the dungeon is able to continue once the dungeon is over. Players have a reason to be social.

That isn’t there with RDF.

I have to disagree with this, especially while leveling you are taking ANYONE you can find. And if I do a shout or list myself for a group, many times I get invited without anyone even talking to me. There is so much crap in the lfg channel that unless you use the almost useless tool blizzard implemented that most people don’t use for creating a group or use far more popular lfg mod you won’t get into a group. The sad thing is that without the better lfg tool they don’t want to implement, we are being forced to deal with spammers instead selling services in the channel. Classic Era is worse in a way, no one is looking for people to group with, there’s no spam, there’s no chatting at all. If you play on those servers you are playing either by yourself or with a guild IF you can find one.

No, if you invite a player to your group and he performs well, you may remember him and choose to invite them in the future. Just because you’re taking anyone doesn’t change that fact.

Yea, it is a small chance. But LFD removes that aspect entirely.

I understand people hate manually dealing with grouping, but LFD is the first step in a long line that led to retails complete solo anti social nature. This is an important aspect to understand in order to keep the integrity of classic.

Weird since Wrath didn’t have RDF at it’s launch and people played just like they are now.

Strange coincidence.

I just stay in the group when I want to keep playing with someone…If we make it more than a few dungeons together or if they are fun to hang with, I’ll add them.

This system does nothing for the social aspect that RDF doesn’t do honestly.

Please add RDF.

Perhaps for you, and perhaps for most people on the larger servers, but for smaller servers, we will almost definitely run into the same people as we continue to form groups, especially without automated cross-realm group forming.
