I’m sure this has been discussed 100x, but do we really want #NoChanges in WOTLK? Many people link the death of the server side community to LFG/LFR.
I for one am not 100% against a queuing system for normal dungeons. As long as the queues were server specific so you could still make friends and find grinding parents same as older versions of classic.
Heroics are a diff story though. I already hate healing heroic pugs in TBC cus you never know what you’re gonna get. It could end up as torture and a waste of a lock out.
Also, with leveling; I feel like LFG coming at launch could really hurt the open world vibe of Northrend cus people will just sit in town and queue LFG like they do on retail.
Most realms don’t have enough players to build groups anymore. You’ll just sit in your queue for hours and be no better off than you were before. Since no one wants to properly balance realm populations we NEED cross realm dungeons.
I would love to see LFD removed in WOTLK classic. The problem is, the way we play games now they would really need a strong gameplay-driven substitute solution. I’d prefer it not just be a manual LFG menu system either.
Something to get you gathering near or around summoning stones. Some form of mob worth farming or repeatable quest etc. that you grind for gold, rep, or rewards. That way the game has nudged you to hang out in a location where it makes sense to form groups for the dungeon.
Then they just need to make sure it’s balanced so that you still actually want to do the dungeon, because it’s worth more than continuing to do whatever else you were up to, for most players anyways.
Just wait til WOTLK gets announced and all the people who are against changes to TBC (like adding dual spec, increasing honor gains, etc) come in here whining that LFG should be removed. Gonna quote all their stupid comments about authenticity.
Spending 5 minutes on a flight path makes zero difference from being teleported to the dungeon. It added nothing to ‘life to the world’. You just afk’ed on a flight path then flew into the dungeon. Do you think people are going to stop and do a quest or find a random person questing and say hello on their way to the instance?
Do people actually put though into their responses?
Absolutely false for many dungeons in the game, teleportation affects more dungeons than just wrath dungeons that (mostly) had a flight path nearby. Fighting through Ogres in Dire Maul and trying to remember which colored entrance in Maraudon led to what are part of the experience of the game or even a trek through swamp of sorrows for Alliance to reach RFD and RFK.
And I would expect such an answer from someone who plays on PvE server.
You know, I would say you could make an effort to create a constructive suggestion, but we can plainly see that exertion of energy is clearly above you.
I like my worlds living and breathing, especially as someone who enjoys WPVP. If you want to AFK in town so bad go play Retail.
As i thought, no response or counter argument because you know I’m right, just unwitty responses. Imagine thinking that being on a PvP server makes you ‘superior’. Your server choice and forum posts says a lot about your intelligence. Everything adds up.
For people that only want to hit max level and raid log sure I’d agree but those people are also buying boosts to largely skip the levelling process already. I ran Dire Maul, upper and lower Blackrock spire during Wrath and won’t have a problem doing it in …uhh 2023? Alot of people enjoy these dungeons and levelling and gearing up as they do rather than rush.
That’s why I like healing pugs. I get bored with the easy runs. If I spend more than half my time spamming smite it’s a boring run for me. I like the challenge of healing pugs.
