Anyone know if there’s an LFG addon that will help me find groups? Trying to find a group for WC but I’m confused on how to go about finding a group. I’ve asked in /1 in the barrens but it seems like none are recruiting. Is there an addon to help me find a group or do I need to go to a major city to find one?

There is an LFG Classic addon that parses Trade, LFG, World, and your regional channel for anyone looking for groups and lets you message them using the UI. Otherwise you’re sorta stuck just spamming “LFG WC” until someone picks up.
Whch will soon be broken due to it recreating QOL features from retail that arent supposed to be in classic.
It doesn’t do anything other chat mods don’t already do… so I’m not sure what they’re going to do to break something like that. And it isn’t the only LFG-style tool either. /shrug
I think my server is just too dead right now to find a group this early lol

That’s the most likely scenario, the 20-40 dungeons are getting run nonstop on Fairbanks once the afternoon hits.

Yeah, Im pretty sure Bliz wouldn’t say they are going to break it if they had no way of doing so. It would just be unfortunate if other addons ended up getting taken down with it due to people trying to skirt the entire point of the game by trying to bring all of their retail conveniences with them.
It looks at chat, presents boxes with folks who are looking, and lets you message that person directly. It sorts the messages by instance if it can.
That’s it. What conveniences are you talking about?

It used to auto-add people into groups and people (including myself) didn’t like that. It’s one thing to sort chat boxes, but quite another to automatically create groups.
Oh so… then it won’t get broken then. Not like you can’t setup keyword invites using a variety of addons from Vanilla but eh if spamming out to mass form groups is bad, we’ll see what they break to stop that.
There is the LFG channel if you don’t know. It’s not enabled any default.
However, like everything now days, it is SATURATED with hateful, miserable, toxic people. Have to take the t channel with a grain of salt.
Most of us are hoping those type players won’t last in classic. In fact, we’re counting on it. My future as a blizzard subscriber depends on it.
Go back to retail.

You’re also a warlock people aren’t going to want you in groups over a mage until you get summon anyway
I’m not trolling. We didn’t have LFG in Vanilla, which is why we shouldn’t have it now. Having to travel to major cities to advertise in Trade chat, message your friends, /who people and whisper privately, use other party members to advertise in the zone the dungeon is in itself, this is what Classic is all about. World travel. Less instant gratification. (‘I need it NOW, because I lack patience.’) Not only that, but all of this effort requires you to use your brain, and makes the dungeon actually feel worth completing.
If you want instant gratification, go back to retail where you can push a button and let the computer do all the work for you.
I believe the addon’s developer has already removed the controversial functionality, but Blizzard will still be breaking what was in the API that enabled it in the first place. They don’t want another addon like it to pop up in its place.
