You can still form groups, and do Walk-in heroics. theres still a gear requirement to use the LFD. you dont need to take LFD out of the game just to make the small % of people happy, and upset the vast majority.
See:
Definitely check out the movie Cars.
lol, it is you again. It is like if they are giving HICC gears for free, of course I will take it. Is it a bad decision? Of course it is a terrible decision.
You will probably like “don’t take it if you don’t like the it, just Go farm it”.
lightning mcqueen was hauled around in a semi truck, thats the same as the insta port, but again feel free to chill by the entrance of the instance when you go to que, or form your own group and walk there, no one is stopping you from doing so, and if thats what you like to do, i seriously do encourage it, just dont find happiness at someone else’s
expense
Quick Plot: Radiator Springs was once a popular little town bustling with cars who simply enjoyed passing through because Route 66 was filled with beautiful scenery, enjoyable windy roads and and mom and pop shops. It didn’t matter to them that it wasn’t a particularly fast or efficient route for getting where they needed to go because the drive itself was an experience. Though eventually, Interstate 40 was constructed and Radiator Springs was bypassed to make the route quicker. The abandoned town slowly withered for decades. None of the shops had any business and they never got to enjoy passing visitors like they used to.
Until Lightning McQueen tore through the town in a confused panic after being separated from Mac, his hauling truck. At first Lightning absolutely hated Radiator Springs because the only thing he could think about was getting to his big race in California. Though over time he came to recognize the value in Radiator Springs and more broadly, taking the time to enjoy his experience rather than always frantically rushing towards his goals.
Sally:
“Forty years ago, that interstate down there didn’t exist…”Lightning:
“Really?”Sally:
"Yeah. Back then, cars came across the country a whole different way. "Lightning:
“How do you mean?”Sally:
"Well, the road didn’t cut through the land like that interstate. It moved with the land, you know? It rose, it fell, it curved… Cars didn’t drive on it to make great time; they drove on it to have a great time.Lightning:
“What happened?”Sally:
“The town got bypassed just to save 10 minutes of driving.”
One of the main takeaways from the movie is that optimizing everything for minimal effort/time spent and maximal convenience leaves you with a soulless, sterile experience. That abandoning the beautiful scenic path and all of the great experiences that come with it just to save a little time turns the journey into a dull, linear experience without variation or excitement.
It’s pretty easy to draw parallels:
- Radiator Springs/Route 66 – The world outside of capital cities
- The interstate – Dungeon finder teleports
- The residents of Radiator Springs – Players who enjoy a populated questing zone
- The young jerk Lightning McQueen who couldn’t care less that abandoning Radiator Springs was destructive to the cars who lived there because he only cared about getting from point A to point B faster
Well… You get the picture.
