LF Old School Guild with Active Gchat (Not Discord)

Hey there,

I’ve been looking for a guild to call home, but I’m struggling to find the right place for me. I’m hoping that posting here might help me connect with people with similar interests. I’m looking for a guild that:

  1. Gchat, not Discord. I don’t mind Discord being there for voice during raids or group events, but when I’m playing, I’m in game and most of the guilds I’ve joined have dead gchat while Discord is hopping out of world. I certainly understand why people have it and what its benefits are, but just like some people like Classic, I like gchat. Ideally, the best guild for me would rely heavily on gchat and in-game socialization.

  2. Interest in Lore. The right guild would be open to discussing lore, and even some light RP type stuff. I usually have a backstory for my characters, so I’m not against RP, but I tend to be more lore heavy than creative RP. I don’t consider myself an RPer, but I do like the community and I’m very interested in lore.

  3. Socializing, in general. A group that enjoys socializing is ideal. Some guilds have delayed my application until they start raiding. I’m not looking for strategic partners for loot. I’m looking to have friendship and socialize. I would love to accomplish things with those friends (delves, transmog runs, raids, whatever) but I’m primarily looking for friends to play the game with, not human npcs to further my goals.

  4. Older players. The ideal guild would have a lot of middle aged or older players, or young people with maturity. Basically, I’ve got a family, a house, a job and the game doesn’t come first. It would be nice to be surrounded by people who understand that.

  5. Fun-loving. It’s weird that I have to include this in a videogame, but I’m mostly looking to have fun and escape into a virtual world. If you stand in the fire, I’m more inclined to laugh than yell at you. I expect the same. I still get tickled when stupid stuff happens, and I would prefer to be around people who don’t view the game as a job. I respect the time of others and don’t try to ruin things, but I also don’t enjoy drama and rage.

  6. I would prefer a guild on this server. I like running into my guildies in world!

I should mention I’m east coast and mostly play on evenings and weekends.

I’m old, I hate discord, I miss family style guilds and when someone logging on felt like Norm walking into the bar. (Kiddos won’t get that reference)

And I see a couple folks feel the same. Maybe if OP didn’t find anything, we should just start one ourselves?

Yeah, I’m old too. I miss gchat blowing up with greetings, followed with banter and some Norm wisdom.

I don’t think I’ve seen anymore from the OP.

Good morning. Our guild Synchronicity has a lot of older aged wow players. We are on Wrymrest Accord if that helps. So our guild chat has what you aer searching for. Discord is mainly used just for people doing dungeons or raids and wanting to be in voice chat. A lot of the actual banter between everyone is in game. For anyone finding this thread in the dusty archives, I’ve decided to start my own guild with the aim toward building what I described above. At present, no discord will be created. The guild will be Fallen Relics on Area52. These are early founding days, so we’re going to get out of it what we put in, but if you’re interested, feel free to reach out to:
